This is stunning. I've only just heard of this man, on his passing in the newspaper today, but what a spine-tinglingly moving song. He will not be forgotten. R.I.P.

Doldrums..the first Chills song I ever heard. Taped it off BFM in early 80s adding to a 'mix tape' . Presumed it was an up and coming overseas band...probably from the UK. It was such a catchy beautiful song. Was playing it at high school soon after on my mono 4 watt 'ghetto blaster.' Someone said hey that's The Chills they're a New Zealand band! I was like Holy heck! that's awesome to hear. And hence started my love affair with the music of Martin Phillips 🎸 and The Chills🎶. Thanks for all your beautiful music Martin. Really sad to hear of your passing mate. A Big tree has just fallen in the Dunedin green belt. The gift of all your wonderful haunting dreamy and uplifting music will stay with us eternally. Now you can rest in heavenly pop hit peace! 🌒🌓🌔🪐✨ 🌌🌌🌠🌕🌘🌌🌠✨ Big Big Cheers Martin! 🥂 🎶 🎸 🍻 🎶

My favourite Chills' song off the great Submarine Bells album. The track resonates for a Kiwi expat like me. Thanks so much Martin.

My favorite Chills song, was introduced to me by a new friend in Queenstown in 1988, who handed me a cassette with Kiwi music I needed to hear. 36 years later, the Chills are still one of my favorites, along with so many other NZ bands like the Clean, the Bats, and Verlaines. RIP Martin and thanks for the music.

My two and a half year old daughter can sing this entire song and knows the lyrics, so that solidified my opinion that this is the best Chills pop song. I already loved it, but it’s even better being able to sing it with her.

The Chills have done some great songs down the years... this has to be my favourite though, more than "Heavenly Pop Hit." Though "Heavenly Pop Hit" is amazing also.
