Great job! Stitch holders have made the difference for me. They make the wrapped stitches so much easier to identify and work.

After watching several vids in .....dismay I find this. THEE ANSWER. Video is to the point showing exactly where yarn..where needles go and what they are to do, and how it will look. Excellent. Thank you.

Thanks for this video. I replayed it for every row of the collar of the sweater I just started! Excellent verbal explanation and visual demonstration. I appreciate it!

I'm still confused. I've never even heard of wrap and turn until this morning. I get what you did here, but what do I do after the turn? Do I just knit back in the other direction over the stitches I've just done? How do I join the work again?

Is the wrap and turn to be on the next stitch? Ex. Knit 77 stitches and wrap and turn.

Slip purl wise on both wrong and right side for the wrap and turn?
@thechillydog4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You don't want to twist (change the mount) of the stitch you are wrapping. You're just repositioning the stitch so you can wrap the working yarn around it.

Brilliant ! So well explained yet so efficiently. Thank you. I might have to knit some more socks after all ; ) And, probably, as J8n3eyr3 suggested, using stitch markers.

After you've picked up the first wrapped stitch on the knit side that you encounter, are you meant to keep picking up the remaining wrapped stitches on the knit side until you've done all of them and then turn your work and purl back to pick up the purl wraps until you've done all the purl wraps? Or is there another way to do it?
@thechillydog2 жыл бұрын
It depends. For sock heels/toes, I usually deal with one wrapped st at the end of each short row, so there will be as many rows as there are wrapped sts. If you are using wrap and turns in a different situation, you may deal with all the knit wraps in a single row and then all the purl wraps in a single row.

I started out with 80 stitches and did wrap and turn for 8 rows. I wound up with 100 stitches on my needle. Did do this right?
@thechillydog2 жыл бұрын
Generally, wrap and turn is not used as an increase. No matter how many rows you work, wrap and turns shouldn't change your overall stitch count.

It looks like the knitting needles have indentations in them.

Yes, you're correct. In intro: Needles: skacel by addi Rocket2 [squared] I have some square needles and love them.
