Alva Sanchez Blue cloud dust is the best. Avoid using sand as it makes their fur rough and dull. 😊💕

Sounds great! Please get 2 chinchilla's instead of one though. If a chinchilla lives alone they get very lonely and they could die from it.

@@Kachilita if they are bonded with another chinchilla, yes. but if she buys it alone there shouldn’t be a reason why it would die.. spending a lot of quality time with a chinchilla and bonding time with it is a for sure thing they need tho if she’s just getting one

@@jaki7018 I very much disagree with you. I have one chinchilla who I couldn't get to bond with any others because he was too aggressive. I finally gave up on bonding him with another chin and gave him much more attention because of that. He started ripping out his fur and he almost died because he was so miserable. I tried one more time with a baby chin I got at a pet store (even though I normally never ever buy pets in pet stores). It worked and now he's very happy. I've had chins for years, actually have 16 at this time. They can not live alone and every breeder or long time chinchilla owner will vouch for that.

I think it depends on your chinchilla.. hers doesn't actully eat the cardboard but kinda 'cut' it in stripes but doesn't get any of it inside of it's stomach.. but if your chinchilla eats it, it can be harmful..

desi swazey They shouldn’t have excessive amounts which is why leaving the big cardboard box in their cage isn’t a good idea. Merlin doesn’t devour the cardboard, he just rips strips off and makes a mess but if your chinnie starts eating too much of it, then use the toys just for playtime or supervision. :)

I did think all of these were cleaver and very cute but I just wanted to say to her and everyone who reads this that has a chinchilla. Putting a blanket on everything in their cage isn’t safe their feet need to touch the metal of a cage so they can cool off or they will get over heated quickly but your chinny looks very happy and healthy I love seeing people care for their pets

That’s why we put granite slabs in their cages. My chinchilla has one level that’s completely tile so they can cool off. It’s also more about the temperature that you keep the room, and the room is always 68 degrees Fahrenheit💕

Sierra Froman I just wanted to add an extra natural and interesting touch to his cage so I put that there. It’s just a smooth rock I got from outside and disinfected. I actually have a video on How I did that if you’re curious 😉💕

Omg no! Not cardboard!!! If you are looking to get a chinchilla plz do not feed them cardboard! It will swell up in there stomach and will make them very sick! I can say though that I didn't know at the start either, I gave my chinchilla cardboard cuz I watched this vid and thought it was fine. But it's not! I've learned through my mistakes but the vet told me. I'm not trying to put hate here I'm just trying to let you and other people know
