I get it’s a joke, but it’s not like in the movies. There are few psychiatric hospitals left in the US, with most closed by Regan for “care in the community”meaning “depend on family, or be homeless on the streets.” And it’s VERY hard to legally have someone committed for psychiatric care, for better and worse. Having weird beliefs, making bad decisions or even having a severe mental illness isn’t enough. Go to any city and see the disheveled homeless guys arguing with themselves on the street. Even if you can get a commitment, the average stay is just a few days, unless ordered by a Court due to a crime.

Which can actually be quite tough, since many psychopathologies will have a lot of overlapping criteria. She certainly has a few narcissistic traits, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a clinician would find that NPD would be a best fit diagnosis for her. While delusions of grandiosity are a criteria of NPD, it’s still more likely that she has a pathology of delusion, and that ‘being god’ is one of her delusions. That’s all I meant to say. I’m not up to scratch on the pathologies on delusions. But I do know a fair bit about the cluster b disorders, and she doesn’t fit any of them very well (from where I sit over here on my armchair anyway) 😂 I don’t think she’s ‘entitled’, as much as it seems that way. I think that she genuinely believes she has knowledge or incite that others don’t have, and that she’s trying to do the right thing by ‘bringing down a murderer’. I also suspect she’s probably fairly low IQ. She’s a bit of a recipe for disaster - she likely needs psychiatric help, and medication. She’s annoying, and even dangerous (to the degree that anyone so unhinged from reality is dangerous) but she’s not malevolent.

My cousin is an addict who suffers from psychosis with voices in her head. There was a day my cousin came to me and was going on about one of this chick's tarot readings. She was 100% convinced someone rich and famous was in love with her and they were communicating through a psychic connection and sometime soon he was going to announce her name publicly and they were going to be together. My cousin is a Capricorn. She got this from a 4 month old Virgo reading and you could not tell her otherwise. She was convinced he was watching her, and on TV or the Internet or the radio he was just going to announce her to the world. My husband and I were trying to get her back in touch with reality by asking her how this would actually go down? Are you actually being stalked by a famous person? So they are just driving around watching you and communicating with you through your mind? They are just going to be on the radio and just randomly be like "A**** R***" and that's it? Unfortunately that was a year ago and she has since relapsed and continued to just use and not get help and is quickly losing her sanity.
