DETAILS/RAW Footage: thecivilrightslawyer.com/2024/10/11/cops-called-about-a-white-suspect-then-arrest-deaf-black-man-with-cerebral-palsy/ In Phoenix, Arizona, cops were called by a Circle K gas station in reference to a white man they wanted trespassed from their store. When they arrived, the white man pointed across the street to a black man, claiming that the man was the actual culprit. Just taking his word for it, Phoenix officers Ben Harris and Kyle Sue violently attacked the black man. His name is Tyron McAlpin. He’s completely deaf and has cerebral palsy. Officers Harris and Sue took him to the ground, punched him in the head at least 10 times and tased him at least 4 times, all the while shouting commands that he was unable to comprehend. @mykeride23 күн бұрын
It wasn't quite that they randomly picked him, but it's _almost_ that bad. The video does explain how it went from white suspect to the victim. The gas station called the police to have a white guy trespassed. When they got there, they got the white guy. But the white guy said (paraphrasing, and throwing in a little "The Fugitive") "Hey, it wasn't my fault. I was only acting out because the One Armed Man attacked me first" and he pointed to the black victim who was just walking across the street. So even though the Circle K employees said "THAT is the guy who was acting up in our store" (about the white guy), they took the perp white guy's word that he was assaulted by the black guy.

This guy was walking away from an alleged assault, with the victim stating to police that the suspect physically assaulted him and that he wants the guy arrested, and points him out to them across the car park. On that basis the police had to take the suspect into custody for an investigation. Obviously they couldn't let him walk off while they viewed store video, or they'd lose him. So their approach to take him into custody for an investigation before he walked off was clearly justified on the evidence available to them at the time, and was, in my view, the most appropriate approach. Where things go awry is when they stop their vehicle, in a cut off maneuver, and the suspect appears to attempt to avoid/flee (unclear) and a melee ensues. Exacerbated no doubt by the inability of the suspect to verbally communicate or hear police commands, matters not known to the police at that time. It appears to me the police acted appropriately up to the point of the physical altercation. It could be assumed the police were over aggressive/violent during the altercation, however that is subjective, as we can't see how hard the suspect is resisting. And clearly he was resisting. We know for example that he bit one officer. I think this can be viewed with a more tempered lens, but clearly needs further internal investigation for clarification.

Things I and other colored people do to shield themselves from racial profiling should tell you enough. (so many things) It isn't as if I started shielding myself because of an opinion or belief I have. But out of sheer necessity. I make sure to never walk behind white people at night( I walk either a distance in front, or ideally on the other side of the street. Even-though I'm heading the same direction). I go out of my way making sure white people feel somewhat safe. Like making sure the security guards in stores have a clear line of sight of me at all times, because they get nervous when they lose me out of sight. They start half-running from aisle to aisle looking for me. And that annoys the hell out of me, so I choose to first look for security guards and actually make eye-contact, before shopping. And staying visible. (lol... but it's true) It wasn't always like that for me, but when I went to study in the Netherlands, I was suddenly confronted with the fact that I'm not white. I never before realized it that much. Verbally I don't take any sh*t from anyone. If they snob me off at a store i reprimand them. If cops follow me walking home, I immediately walk up to their vehicle and reprimand them. I am lucky that I'm not dumb. I'm not a Karen, but I'm quick-withed and verbally cutthroat. So it always leads to dumbfounded gazes or the 'loser retreat'. Slowly shuffling away and ignoring me. I do enjoy those moments, when bigots realize they choose the wrong guy to unleash their cropped up racism upon. Anyway, my point is that with these kind of cops like in the video, there is no room whatsoever for normal human behavior. If I was ever to be approached by cops in the US, I recon I'd play dead.

Do you really think that your owners see you any differently than they see the people whose oild they've stolen, and whose nations they've shattered? Why did this guy immediately start assaulting the officer when the officer went to detain him???? He’s NOT blind! That’s not normal. I don’t care about the deafness and CP. That’s a red herring. The officer had a uniform on and everybody knows (OR SHOULD KNOW!!!) that you can’t assault an officer! This video is a joke.

Someone should give those police officers a taste of what they did to this deaf young man. They had no reason to even detain him let alone arrest him. This seriously pisses me off. There is no excuse good enough to justify how they interacted with the deaf man. They didn't even attempt to question him, instead it was instant attack mode. They better release this man and be forced to pay serious compensation for what they did to him.
@simonclemence4662Ай бұрын

@@simonclemence4662 We got a pretty good view of it from multiple angles. The officers rolled up on a man with a pallsied walk, immediated yeeted themselves out of their vehicle into him, and proceeded to beat the ever loving shit out of him with maximum escalation to repeated weapons discharge and unnecessary punitive violence. Then lied about it repeatedly, under oath no less, and laughed about the grand old time they had brutalizing a cripple while bemoaning their self-inflicted injuries. The bare minimum of reasonable escalation would've allowed the officers to quickly ascertain their suspect was both thoroughly communication impaired and too physically disabled to pose any meaningful degree of physical threat or flight.
