I’m finishing up on my cabinet. Interesting that we came up with similar ideas. I bought the complete 2 in 1 Xtool with the extensions. I like the horizontal design for easy access. I went the long way and placed doors under the laser frame to allow unlimited length signs with 34” tall letters. On the venting, I have opted to make it a downdraft system with a six inch double squirrel cage exhaust with three speeds. I’ll let you know how that works out. Like your design I have placed two manually operated scissor jacks under the honeycomb. Unfortunately I bought two standard X Tool honeycombs before I saw the extended one piece unit that you have. If you know anyone I would like to sell my two new unused panels and get the one like you have. I see that I’ll have a large solid bar where the two come together. I’m reinforcing the framework with aluminum angle and the two independent jacks should solve the stabilization issue of the large frame. On the glass I’ve built a 24 X 36 solid plate glass top and placed a 24 X 24 filter plexiglass on top that can slide up and down on the clear glass. The lid has two gas shocks that balance the lid open or closed. The unit will have a 32” monitor on an articulating mount. The glass top will be a work surface for a wireless keyboard and mouse that connects to a mini PC mounted to the end cabinet. Like most of my grand plans I’m sure there will be modifications but like you I’m ready to get out of the cabinet business and back to the origins, plan whatever that was. All of this is mounted on a custom heavy four wheel dolly that is detachable and recesses up into the bottom of the cabinet height enclosure. Whew!!! Never dreamed a cabinet could cost a thousand bucks!!! I’ll look into your store for the full length honeycomb and other offerings. Thanks so much for you informational videos and for sharing your knowledge.

@@TheClackShack I just saw your video on switching to the new laser company. I love the electric lift mechanism. Ill probably add that soon but using two manual jacks for now. on the honeycomb stability I am concerned with that on my design. It would be easier if I had the one piece honeycomb. I'm thinking like you mentioned to add a subframe under the honeycomb. Also to make a gauge to check the be parallels to the laser. on the cabinet I think a full height cabinet design on casters is going to work. inside the cabinet I used four of the two slot adjustable shelf brackets to support both the laser and the bed jacks. I made the cabinet 56 inches deep and 24 inches inside. I put a 3/16 plate glass top inside a frame that allows a 24 x 24 filter glass that slides on top of the plate glass. This gives me a work surface for the keyboard and mouse. I also mounted a 40" HD TV with a sound system. I can play KZbin feeds or music while drawing or surfing the web. So far the mini computer is handling all of this multitasking. On the electric I wired four duplex outlets on the back side and four switches on the front side panel. Thanks for all of your contributions and great ideas. I would like to send a couple photos and follow your new design ideas also.

Got excited by the price of the safety glass you found, but then saw it's only OD3, which is way too low for any real protection. If you have to wear your safety glasses around the laser in the enclosure then spending any money on "safety" acrylic is kind of a waste. I recently watched a video with a guy who does this kind of work for military contract work and he said he wouldn't let anyone near a laser with less than OD5. Yeah the higher OD panels are really expensive, but my eyes are priceless. Maybe just put a panel on the enclosure you can open and close to look with your glasses, or just keep it all closed up and use a camera feed to monitor the burn progress.
