I've been watching for a short while. I, too, wondered if you were "independently wealthy". Wow. It's beyond great that you're willing and able to take such great care of the horses you rescue. It would be a lot even for a "trust fund cowgirl". I hope that you find a place to buy that has a great view - and all the other ingredients you need - for a reasonable price. You deserve that.

Thrifting saved us a great deal when our children were growing up. We did not have much extra money to spend and we could find what we needed and afford it by always being on the lookout for good yard sales and bartering with friends and aquaintances. Nowdays, we don't need to thrift shop, but I still do because of my petite size and I really dislike the modern styles of most clothes. With thrifting, there is a good cross section of many styles and sizes. Good job!

Two of my favorite things pop up in one video, thrifting and horses! Came for the horses stayed for the Thrifting. I’ve often wondered about whether people can do this for a living. Thanks for giving some insight into it. It’s never occurred to me to question where your income comes from. I’m always amazed how obsessed people become with the lives of KZbinrs. I try to remember that many of them might just be kids. I hate to think that I’m wrong, because that would mean there are a lot of rude adults out there. but sadly, I think that’s the case. 😂

I really enjoy your insight into each horse's personality (that seems the wrong word 🤣-- there should be specific ones for animals) and learning about their individual histories. And your retail expertise about apparel is dizzying 🏆🥇 I've never even heard of most of these brands! Wishing you continued success on your eBay ventures & looking forward to finding out what's up after Skeletor's vet visit. You are AMAZING 👍🏼👍🏼(and I'm going to go peek at your store now) ☺️

Didn't know this was something people could do. As someone else commented on... came for the horses, stayed for the thrifting. Good to see how other folks can make money to afford their horses. I'm having vet recommend joint injections for my arthritic old guys. All he said was "It's expensive." and I was starting to think that I need to up my game & not just be retired & relying on my husband to be still working. I'll go look at a local thrift out of curiosity.

You are like me.We are able to see what a horse can become and not get stuck on the cosmetic or a few pounds needed. I recently got a little gelding at the auction, great bloodlines Trashadeous on top and Collena Freckles on bottom. Reining and cutting bred. But at 5 years old he only got to be 13.2 hands so nobody messed with him. He is doing great and will make someone an awesome little horse.

Wow this was eye opening! You really are a clever cowgirl. I remembered someone I met over twenty years ago who had a government job that was being phased out. She loved to thrift - especially the unusual antique roadshow kind of things. Well just as her job was ending she found something at an antique/thrift store that turned out to be worth so much she was able to open her own shop! Not that you'd want to do that when you can be outside with all your animal friends and those gorgeous mountains!

My best recommendation for back issues is walking... Not shopping, not cleaning stalls or fixing fences (sorry). Just walking and enjoying the surrounding. Maybe take a critter with you. Hard in winter. I sure don't want to walk when it's cold, windy, wet footing. I guess the other suggestion is to see a good chiropractor. Hope you feel better and better. Take care!

One thing I've had good luck with is chopped hay for the older or dental challenged horse. Use a CLEAN leaf shredder. Run the usual ration through the shredder (pieces about the length of your little finger or shorter) and feed in a pile or tub. Feed hay chop damp or add some grain for more calories. My older horse much preferred this to slop or mush.

That's the same with thrift shops everywhere: mostly junk. The valuable things are few and far between, which is why resellers tend to frequent more than one store; but fortunately CC's store seems to be pretty well stocked. I once bought a real fox fur coat in good condition for $40. But that sort of thing usually only happens once every couple of decades.

That’s pretty great income for one day haul! I’ve never known anyone who does the thrifting. Interesting. You mention your back pain…have you injured your back before? I have raised horses and can vouch for how hard you’re working on them! It’s very hard work and lifting is necessary. So if you have an old or even new back injury it makes it hard and sometimes impossible to do all that you do. Watching you makes me tired bc I know what it takes. It’s amazing all that you accomplish…awe to be young again! 😊 From being in TX it’s funny to hear you say it’s a mild day with ice and snow on the ground and animals out in drastic temps. Here people are warned to put livestock inside if it gets close or below zero only bc our animals aren’t typically use to that. Between you animals, your job, I don’t see how you have time for anything else! You’re the Busy Cowgirl for sure! Stay warm! You have some beautifully special animals. I’m new to your channel and kind of surfing around your videos. Great content and you present it well❤

I've seen some really nice, expensive stuff that I know I could sell if I knew how. If you think of all the time that would take, it doesn't look like you make tons and tons and certainly not enough for your property and horse keep. Horses can be expensive & can hurt themselves if you look at them cross-eyed. We're lucky to keep horses on pasture most of the year. From about January until the grass starts greening up, we feed grass hay, no grain. I'm jealous of your barn, fencing, truck & trailer, etc. That stuff is very expensive.

I am amazed you are able to do this and make a good living. Well done you! How long does it take you roughly to make your return?? Here in Scotland our secondhand stores dont have much new tagged items and the very few designer items are sold at inflated prices, no bargains like yours!. People here tend to sell the expensive clothes themselves. We have a few factory outlet type stores but nothing like the reductions you are able to secure. I'm worried about the pastern angles and hind hoof axis on Skeletor, Im sure you'll do what s best for him. Carry on!!

Your thrift stores have a lot better inventory than mine do! I still manage to find good stuff though most of the time. One of them sells 'intimates' for 50cents a piece whether they are new or used; I have sucess and good profits from sports bras and crop tops. I'll buy anything that will make me a profit, last week it was a Vintage USAF (I live in Australia) flight suit for $10, pretty good. I am patient too, I won't 'give' items away just to clear space.Glad to hear that your back is getting better. Stay safe 😁🦘🦘🦘

If you go to the right Auctions (antiques/collectibles/fine arts, Estate) you can find Box Lots of uncatalogued treasure. Sometimes the things being auctioned are overlooked too or even miscatalogued - some Auctioneers are awesome and some are knuckleheads. Same "buyers reserve" and taxes are paid if you're buying it personally. Since it's for resale, run it through your business and only pay taxes when you eventually sell it. Best luck!
