JiWon Yang made her recital debut in Seoul at age 9 and her concerto debut in Kazakhstan at 13. Among her competition accolades are several in her home country, as well as wins at the Zhuhai Mozart Competition in China, Astana Piano Passion Kazakhstan, and Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Pianists. She has participated in Russia’s International Music Festival “Stars on the Baikal,” as well as the St. Paul University Piano Festival. Notable performances include with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists and at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and Philippines Chopin Society. A current student of HyoungJoon Chang, JiWon counts traveling and flute performance among her interests outside of piano.

Réminiscences de Norma: 13:54 Her performance is absolutely stunning btw. Liszt´s Norma fantasy is certainly one of the finest solo pieces out there, and listening to this recording makes me wonder if piano playing can even get any better than this.

It was an amazing experience watching JiWon live on KZbin playing the super difficult and amazingly dramatic Liszt's Norma Fantasy! Leslie Howard's version has been the top of my list. But JiWon's version no doubt rivals Leslie's. This is even more amazing when considering that she is only 17!! Perhaps her depth of pathos in the slow section (21:28) was not as great as Leslie's. But I like her transition to the first section of the sweeping arpeggios (25:05-25:15). The bravura sections are great (26:54, 27:13). The second section of sweeping arpeggios together with cross hand motions is impeccable (27:40)!

@@marvel14644 It's the internet and youtube website that caused the out-of-sync issue for me. It became OK when I returned to this video a few days later. So I highly doubt doctors would have helped. Thanks for trying to suggest a solution though.
