What a phenomenal story of perseverance and giving back to forge others ahead. Not just a success story of an African American, but a success story of a visionary. A man who took the foundational principles acquired as a team player, and transitioned those principles into a business model that promotes all who would be willing to roll up their sleeves and become a part of a wholistic success story.

And what’s amazing is that he never made more than $350,000 in any season during his NBA career. Not because he wasn’t a great player, but because he was playing in the late 1970s to the late 1980s back when NBA salaries weren’t super sky high like they are now. I bet if he was playing in today’s era, he probably would’ve made as much as 10 or 15 million a year.

350,000 isn’t a low salary even today. He was playing a game and earning as much as physicians who had to study much harder and use way more intelligence. It’s still impressive he is such a good businessman. Most physicians cannot breakout like Junior did.
