The wisest woman I've ever known was Mrs. Emma Lee Wheeler she took care of us kids when my Mom was so sick one day I asked her why is life so hard, her response was "Tony if the mountain was smooth you couldn't climb it" this song is a wonderful reminder of this truth. Adversity, trials, tribulations are just stepping stones to opportunity that God wants us to see for our lives. His ways are truly higher than our ways! A little over 2.5yrs ago my brother who directed our children's choir had them sing this song for Mother's Day. Less than 2 weeks later he suffered a seizure which revealed a tumor with stage 4 cancer in the brain. He went through 2 brain surgeries and this year, the day before Thankdgiving he went home to be with the Lord. At his funeral some young ladies, one his niece sang this song. Truly we can't understand the ways of God. And so often they seem unkind or unfair. How does God take a 38yr old husband and father of 4 so early in life? Because His ways are higher and in the end He is free to do what He chooses with His creation and His children. But thankfully we have the precious promises of God in the Bible that Hit thoughts are good toward us! We can know all things work together for our good! So while we don't understand His choices, we can trust His character. It's called walking by faith!

Our beloved pastor suddenly, and very unexpectedly, had a medical issue that took him straight into the arms of Jesus, leaving his family and our congregation in shock and sadness. His wife asked that this beautiful song would be played at the end of our Sunday service and there wasn't a dry eye in the church. An event like this leaves us mere mortals wondering about God's plans but we know we have to trust Him. "His ways are higher than mine".

A friend of mine sent me this song when I was in the midst of season of life that I never dreamed I would ever have to go through...a divorce. I played this song over and over and over again. The moment I heard this song, I cried.. I got baptized as seventh day Adventist recently last May and I am very happy understanding God's great love and our duty to obey HIM. But as time passed by, I was tested until now. My husband is my number one enemy. He kept on telling me that SDA is the same doctrines with others.. He wanted me not to attend church because he wants me to take good care all of the household chores... I am struggling doing all things , and I lashed out angry words at him... He kept on teasing me and would say ill words at me,. And I cried, I fight and in return I fell sorry for what I have done.. I could not take it anylonger the treatment of my husband towards me and I pray to God that He will save me from this plight.

What a comfort to be reminded that His Way is higher than mine. Right now in the ER hearing the doctor tell us my 13 yo nephew has a lesion on his brain. Thoughts and questions cloud our mind. Beautiful and oh, so true, the words of this song are!!! My life certainly did not go as I planned!!! I am chronically ill. An RN disabled at 37 years old. So many times of life and death circumstances, a husband that never could take it--divorce. 2 boys to raise---thank God for loving Christian parents that were so helpful!!! Willing to help as I was in the hospital for most of 2 years at one point and they took care of me and my boys. God is GOOD!! No I don't understand so much!!! I never asked why. I had to leave everything in His loving and capable hands!!! I am now 62 and have been home bound for 4 years. I live with my oldest son and his family--my 3 grandchildren!!! They are such a blessing!! My boys are not where they need to be anymore with God. Breaks my heart!!! They experienced what God can do --true miracles in my life---we were so close -but as they became adults, things changed. I pray continuously, but God can make the impossible happen!!!
