You are correct. It never entered the battlefield so it cannot leave the battlefield so it never came into play. So it's not on that layer of the stack. So you forever get to keep those creatures so you hope that someone will counter this or you hope that you can do something to keep it from hitting the battlefield

Void mirror counters it automatically as long as you didn't pay colored mana for it, if you can recycle it from the graveyard to your hand you can loop this forever.

2 things, first Eldrazi have on cast triggers because it’s suppose to show a uniqueness from other creatures who have etb triggers. Second the past modern horizon sets showed events in the past. If this is after she escapes the moon then this would need to be a story set or depict future events.

Fun fact: Gempalm Incinerator kills every version of Emrakul, provided you have enough goblins. Emmy 1 has pro colored spells, Emmy 2 has pro instants, and this has pro spells and permanents cast this turn- but none of them have protection from abilities. Granted, after Emmy 3 hits you'll probably need to rebuild your stock of goblins, but that shouldn't be a problem for any deck that wants to play Incinerator anyway.

Not *strictly* true. There's a ruling on Promised End that states that friendly/beneficial effects are exempt from protection. It has to be a detrimental effect to fall under the umbrella of what something can be protected from. Edit: I checked the ruling again and it seems I fudged it a bit. It can't be *targeted* by instant, but passive effects from instants such as Borrowed Grace go through.

Idea, using this in a blue deck: Venser, Shaper Savant or similar "bounce target Spell" effects. Maybe an Orvar deck? Bounce Emrakul on stack, taking opponents monsters. Displacer Kitten and Venser is a classic combo, but anything that just returns the Eldrazi Mama to hand is solid for this; cheaper as well if you have a discard outlet (maybe a mana maker?) just an idea for the use cases this could be nasty. Maybe Urza, Lord High Artificer for more Artifact and Colorless stuff?

Protection from all instants and sorceries that don’t have Suspend is the grossest thing I’ve ever heard of. That also makes it nigh impossible to counter, so creature/enchantment bounces are your best options for making it leave the battlefield.

darksteel monolith to cast for free and its also indestructible which is nice. add in a forsaken monument and eldrazi temple for cheaper costs and some life gain. rocks like basalt monolith and dreamstone hedron are great in drazi decks to get out the higher costing artifacts or other big eldrazi. this one is definitely going into my Eldrazi deck, price permitting ofc. great suggestion on the alter. sounds disgusting and fun

Yes. Any spell that removes your creatures from off the battlefield will prevent Emrakul from strealing them. Just make sure they don't come back before Emrakul's ability resolves.

Protection only applies when a permanent is on battlefield. It can still be countered on the stack, but it doesn't stop the stealing effect.

Cancer card honestly. I can see this being very triggering. In commander provided that you can't really bounce it because it has protection against your own effects too this reads remove target player from the game (and don't win off of it) for six at the measly cost of a discard effect (if it's in the 99)... As a commander you just stuff your 99 with colorless ramp and get a "fuck you" button for someone you *actually* didn't want to play against or alternatively rage when your artifacts are getting wiped cuz you're now the one doing nothing. (Which is already the case with a lot of giant eldrazi commanders in my xp). Boring design that will probably make for highly unfun games.

Hoping it's banned or never printed.... Sick of more cheaty auto-win threats coming out rather than bew fun synergetic based combo cards. Now we just have the community playing a card at turn 4 attatched to a clue or treasure that says if you have 8 copies of artifact with the same name, you win! Or if you have 10 treasure tokens, you win! Now Emrakul. Good luck countering this card, I hope for your sake you have an instant speed wipe, else you're gone, and then whoever plays the next threatening permanent that will be ready to trigger next go round is next if it's not wiped on another turn.

Another sign wizards does not seem to know good card design or some of them do. Overpowered and just busted pos. IT comes in and steals all your creatures not till end of turn but just takes them. Even if you kill it they are not coming back. Which is unbalanced. IT would be a more balanced effect if I could get my creatures back if I kill this thing but no its a perma steal. If it gets countered YOUR STILL GETTING YOUR CREATURES STOLEN. If you kill it well your creatures all die again just a nice big middle finger to balance there and you can discard it and cast it for half the mana cost! Wizards the hell are you smoking?! Given the amount of easy ramp open to colorless with artifacts and the new support eldrazi got to cheap this thing out is insanely stupid. Definityl a creature that if i was playing commander and its the commander not going to bother shuffling up and play. Overpowered horrid design card. Just gonna be one crappy game with that thing.

There are some ways to handle it but they’re rarer. Aether spellbomb can bounce it as long as it’s been on the field for a turn, most sac effects don’t target so spells that make your opponent sac their biggest creature gets it, green’s “target opponent sacs creatures with flying”. There’s a white enchantment that detains as an ability instead of etb

Funny to assume everybody runs those btw really telling about the sweat people put out for this game mode nowadays. What interaction are you even talking about in the first place too you need six non basics to pay the cost and countering it is useless it just serves to let you never see your creatures again. This effect (and flying, uninteractable stats) for this low of a mana cost is ridiculous. There is clearly *very* little investment required for it not to mention that this is just absolutely colorless and goes in a slew of different decks.
