I used Aegar, the Freezing Flame to make a Tribal Giant/sorcery/instant deck. It had the potential to deal over 300+ damage, but it took ALOT of mana. Giants cost a lot, go figure haha

The flexibility of this commander is absolutely bonkers. I've never felt so many incredible and powerful options that were enabled by such a straightforward design. This card seems like the purest distillation of Esper and I love it! (I got the Foil Showcase Queza for next to nothing!) Dream Trawler is an absolutely unstoppable killing machine in this deck. Ominous Seas is a Kraken factory. Mordenkainen absolutely puts the table on notice with his 14/14+ dog token and insane +2 ability. Reminisce/Clear the Mind/Emergency Powers refill the tank to keep the groans coming. Forgotten Creation is a repeatable wheel just for you with SKULK (with Whispering Madness it's pure evil) Notion Thief, Dark Deal, etc. brainstorm becomes alms of the vein plus card advantage. this commander is a turbo spike control powerhouse!

pretty neat little meme combo is peer into the abyss+wall of limbs. casting peer onto yourself pumps the wall of limbs, and if you have enough mana to use it’s ability to sac itself for damage=power you could possibly kill 2 players in a turn. downsides- slow as all hell and expensive, so maybe cheating the spell out would be preferable. even slower, clunkier extension to this is copying the wall with myojin of cryptic dreams the turn before. upsides-defender fodder bc you won’t need 4 walls, and a winning board state in ~2 turns

I made a deck using Queza, Fluctuator, and a bunch of cycling creatures. You basically just machine gun through your whole deck and ping people to death. At the end, play Living Death and revive all of the creatures you cycled. The other strat is to use library of leng to cycled the same card infinitely.

Library of leng helps out twofold in this deck, not only does it give you no max handsize for one generic but also allows you to discard to the top of your library any cards you wish to keep while wheeling a bunch and increases the amount of times your commander is allowed to trigger due to recycling cards for the draining.

In my eyes it makes use of card that are like “eh thats okay” and turns them into “hey that’s pretty good” which is why I said interesting.

I find most of this set fairly uninspired, but Queza is probably the commander that I am most interested in so far. I like the idea of weaponizing card draw without needing to resort to annoying wheel cards which similar commanders like Nekusar require in order to be effective. I might try to take a shot at building her.

If you combine Peer Into the Abyss with Notion Thief, I believe you could target an opponent and you would get the card draw, but they would lose life twice, or you could split the damage with another opponent.

That isn't how the card works unfortunately. It says target player so the opponent you choose will draw the cards and loose the life. The commander needs you to draw the cards.
