Recently, Eminem’s daughter got married, and the photos of her and her father brought me to tears. Despite what anyone thinks about Eminem, you can’t deny that he is a great father.

@@jtmann2002 His mother was a drug addict and his father left him. Eminem and his mother's relationship was so bad that Em wrote a song about her and how much he hated her, and his mother literally sued him for defamation. I think they're on slightly better terms now but it is a whole drama in of itself.

Eminem always tried to shield Alaina and Hailie from the limelight. Eminem is a really private person, and when he goes viral, it's never something negative about them. It's interesting to see the contrast of Eminem and then look at Britney Spears. Her kids wanted privacy, and she never afforded them that to the point where they wanted to get away from her to make it stop. Even through all that, they still love her. Some people don't deserve kids.

I don't think his haters realize how much of a positive influence he had. He was one of the first voices in hiphop in favor of lgbt, back in years where every politician was against and in a genre that until this day is. They confuse his shocking Shady persona with his nice personality. Look at Megan Thee Stallion fans doing that in plain 2024

I graduated high school with Hailie! She only lived a couple of miles away from me and still lives in Michigan as far as I know. She was really nice and grounded. You never would even know she was a celebrity's daughter. One of my friends was homecoming king alongside her. Another friend was at her 16th birthday party. Eminem was around for things but always hid so that the attention wasn't on him. He did a good job in not raising a spoiled brat unlike the kids in Hollywood.

Plus, she is 5’8, that’s 4 inches taller than the average female. It’d make sense to date someone above the average male height, because she herself is above the average female height. I'm 36, and grew up hiding that I was listening to Eminem, ha! But I had a lot of hate in my heart for my mother, and how she was more focused on the drugs in her life, rather than me - and in time, that anger turned into understanding, and compassion, and forgiveness... I'm glad to have had Eminem's angry music when I needed it, and I'm glad that he and I both managed to move past our anger for our mothers, and I'm glad I got to see HIM forgive his mother, as well! He was a huge part of my troubled childhood, and helped me get through my frustration with an addict mother, and an abusive stepmother and father. I was so alone, and angry at how I was treated, and almost took my own life, as well - I might not have been in the same kind of suck as him, but I had a rough childhood... and he really did help get me through it, almost as much as the friends I had at school. I couldn't be more happy that he's in a good place, and has a good life, he's sober and gets to see his daughter get married! He ended up being a better father than mine, and took on a lot of responsibility that so many other men don't, or won't.

Omg I also had an Eminem poster on my door when I was younger haha ugh- I have always loved him- and followed him. His adopted daughter Alaina got married last year and he walked her down the aisle as well. He is truly an amazing father and it makes me so proud. From what I have always understood- he was also a very strict father- he didn’t allow cursing, or for them to watch anything that wasn’t age appropriate; they couldn’t date until a certain age and they had to take their school and studies very seriously. God bless him for not only being an amazing father- but doing this all on his own!! I am a single mom to one 7 year old girl and OMG it is hard!!!! The fact that he didn’t have help from his mother, or a live in, full time wife (not sure how involved Kim has been) and he was also a hardworking man throughout- that to me is super impressive! I grew up with no father in my life, raised by a single mom with the help of my grandmother and aunt & I turned out ok! But I didn’t break the cycle- my daughter is living the same story pretty much- except my mom just passed away- so it is just her and I and it is not easy. I can’t imagine Eminem having to talk to 3 girls about their first period and stuff- God bless him!!! He should be so beyond proud that the girls- especially Hailey- have turned out so amazing!!! My only hope is he becomes an amazing grandpa now, and he gets to sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labor! Such a wonderful story that made me cry!!! ❤

As a person who also broke the cycle EMs music is something I related to so much. It was one thing that I left home to break the cycle so my girls had better. When his album dropped in 99 showed me I wasn’t alone. I know many people our age (EM & I Gen) broke the cycle to give our children better. My girls are all gen Z and they love EM’s music. They get to here something that touch their moms heart and helped her through rough times. It is a song for just a single generation it’s for everyone that can relate to his music.

His songs when I'm gone and mock bird made remember how amazing my dad was before he passed. He died when I was 22. My uncle passed away in April months before my car accident. But I know they are angels looking down at me now. Quoting Eminem now: And when I'm just carry on and pull and rejoice everytime you hear the sound of songs. Just that I'm looking down at your smile and I don't even fill the pain, so baby don't feel no pain just smile back. I listen to those two songs and smile while I look at the skies and think of happy memories I have with both of them. As a man who grew up with a drug dealer father anf outlaws as family members and has struggled mightily with addiction. My daughter changed my life and I gave my all to being the best father in the world. Only to have her mom cheat and leave me and use our daughter as a weapon to destroy me now for 6 straight years. The courts refuse to stop.the abuse or hold her accountable and I'm just supposed to accept getting 36 hours a month which I still don't receive as her mom fights me every step of the way. It's DISGUSTING. I could have ended up the same breaking the cycle because my daughter mattered that much to me. But instead she's being used to break me.

@gothic_oma thank you. I get told all the time to just hang in there and when my daughter gets old enough she will come running to me once she's able to stand up for herself and make the choice of who she wants to live with. My Daughter absolutely ADORES me to the moon and back. I was the main parent who did 85% of everything for her for the first 2 years of her life. During that time we built a insanely close bond that has lasted through the 4 total years of alienation. My Daughter changed my life. Before her I was on a fast track to a early grave with every intention on living fast and dying young. I didnt plan to see my 25th birthday let alone my 21st. But I met her mom and fell madly in love and even though she lied to be about taking birth control and essentially trapped me with a kid I loved her enough that I didn't care and was so happy to have my own family to love and cherish and I gave my all to being a great father even though I had less then 0% experience with children at all. I had never even held a toddler until my daughter's birth. And even after her mom left me. I took all the reasons she left to heart and decided to work extremely hard on changing my short commings. On Bettering myself as a human, man, father and lover/partner. I worked so hard and made sure I was consistently there for my child's mother everytime the guys she was with either left her or hurt her and cheated or abused her. I gave her rides to work. Money. Clothes. Bought diapers and wipes and took extra days with my daughter so she could get things she needed done. I sent her heartfelt messages letting her know how much she mattered to me and spent my own energy, time, money, and skills buying things to make custom made mother's day gifts every year with my daughter for her mom to make her feel appreciated and loved. Only to have her take fathers day from me and spend it with men she had been dating all of 2 or 3 months making posts on fb about how there a family and telling him happy father's day in regards to my daughter as if he was her dad and i didn't even exist. I never been told I matter. I've never been told I'm a good dad or that she's proud of the father I am. Or that our daughter needs me. What I have been told? Is the exact opposite of all those things thousands of times. Made to feel worthless. Not needed or wanted. Not good enough or deserving of our daughter. Told I'm a deadbeat. Told I'm a pathetic loser for trying so hard...told how all her bfs are so much better then I am and how I'll never be equal to them. To the point where she told me once about how her one bf cooked dinners for them every night. So what did I do? I decided to learn how to cook and do so legitimately. So that I could bring that to the table as something of value and boy did my little girl appreciate that cause she loves when i cook steaks. But it didn't matter at all to her mom. She's told me at least 1 thousand times to sign my rights away. And I just don't understand what I ever did to deserve this. I wasn't the one who cheated. I wasn't the one who alienated our child. I wasn't the one who called her names and put her down. She did all those things TO ME. I only tried to love her in return and kill her with kindness. But she's a narcissist. A full blown narcissist. And she's bi-polar and she also had a serious car crash because she use to go out street racing at night and ended up smashing unto a pole at 100MPH crushing her car like a soda can and her skull into her brain. Which we were told she wasn't gonna live at first and she was in a coma for 3½ weeks. Which again I went above and beyond. Making get well gifts and videos for her. Asking people to send prayers and positive thoughts her way and making heartfelt messages letting her know I loved her and that I didn't want our daughter to miss out on having a mom growing up. And I took our daughter full time handling telling my 4yr old at that time about how her mom might not be around... Only for her to wake up out of her coma. Message me saying she doesn't love me back. Or care about me and that she's keeping our daughter from me because I was in the middle of transitioning from my current place to another. And for 3 months she refused to let me see our daughter until the courts forced her to do so 💔😭 She had severe brain trauma. But from what I could tell she's the same person she's always been if anything she's more heartless and ruthless to me. But yeah. That's the jist of it all. I spent 3½ years with her. Loving her passionately. And when we were together she loved me back equally. Or so it seemed. But once she was done loving me it was like a switch flipped and I instantly stopped mattering in any capacity whatsoever to her. That my existence in her life was some sort of burden and the harder I tried to prove myself and show her how great of a father I am and how hard I was trying to change and be the man she needed. The more it seemed she hated me and resented me and wished I would walk away... 😥 Every other girl I've talked too or flirted with I the meantime all told me how amazing I am as a father and how they wishes thier childs father would put even 10% pf the effort and love In as I did. Told me my bond with my daughter is the most precious thing they ever seen and that they couldn't possibly understand why my child's mother would take me for granted like the way she does. Not that she has to be with me. Or love me. But just appreciate me as a father and work with me for our daughter's sake. But nope. Shoot whenever I'd find a girl who liked me and wanted to date. My child's mother would message her trying to get her to leave me by telling her that I either still was in love with her (which wasn't not true but obviously me dating someone else was my genuine attempts to move on and fall in love elsewhere 🤦🤔) or tell them about how I've struggled with addiction on and off in my life or that I'm a broken man. And like why do that? Only to turn around and tell me to move on smfh. Why ruin my chances st being happy and moving on if that's what she wanted me to do. I can't even begin to describe how confused, damaged, destroyed and lost I am at this point. As I write this I've not seen my daughter in over a month as her mom is once again refusing to follow the parenting plan.

Eminem’s Mockingbird is mine and my dad’s song (my first name is also Hailey lol). My parents separated when I was 20, but my relationship with my mother hit a down fall last year. My freshman year, I moved in with my mother full time because my dad was going through heavy legal issues due to his now ex-fiancé. My parents lived across the street from each other with a great friendship and I spent two weeks with each parent at a time, now I see him every other weekend. My dad is my person, I tell him everything. As I said, last year my relationship with my mother was getting worse. I can’t imagine how much pain it caused my dad when his then 16 year old daughter was calling him crying because of a fight she had with her mother or something her mother said. Last year between September and December, I only saw my dad for two weekends. He’s currently living with his mother (my Nana) and his asshole of a step-father and during this time, my dad was busting his ass to make more money so my brother and I could have a better life. The first time I saw my dad for longer than 24 hours was Christmas. On my 17th birthday, my mother and I got into it after everyone left (my dad was the last to leave) and she threatened to kick me out. I begged her for 2-3 minutes to call my dad (she took my phone because of the fight) because I was scared since I had no where to go. My dad sat in his car a few counties over for an hour in case he did have to come get me. He’s now looking for a house so my brother and I can live with him full time. I know my mother won’t be happy with that, but I don’t know how much longer I can take in this damn house. I send my dad a screenshot of Mockingbird, Hailie’s Song and My Dad’s Gone Crazy every time one comes up on my playlist. Eminem and his songs have helped me so much with coping with the distance between me and my dad. His story shows that things will get better in the end, even with a crazy baby mama and narcissistic mother.

This is why I’d have no issue with Eminem being a role model. Is he perfect? Nope, none of us are. However, he did something not many stuck in the patterns he was have done. He saw something different for himself and his children and worked his butt off to get it. I worked with students who had been failed by almost every adult around them (I say almost because not every parent or educator in those areas is useless or generational). I always tried to impress on them that where there are now is only the starting point and they have a “choose your own adventure” option moving forward without minimizing that it is difficult to escape the patterns. It all comes down to responsibility for one’s own choices.

His story reminds me of the greatest actor of Hollywood's "Golden Era" - Cary Grant. His mother was absent, his father an alcoholic. He came to the US at 16 years old and rose to be a mega-star. When his daughter was born in 1966, Cary was 62 years old. He quit Hollywood entirely, never acting again, to raise his daughter. They were close all the way until his death. She later released a book - "Good Stuff: A Reminiscence of My Father, Cary Grant".

I wouldn't say that. People can go through a lot and are more compassionate and empathy at an earlier age than people who have kids. For eg. losing your family in your teens would do that to you. You become more sentimental earlier than your peers and you don't have to have kids yet. I feel like my peers who are having kids are less selfish than before and now comparable to me now (some of them).

This is seriously such a beautiful moment. Congrats to Eminem and his daughter Hailey. If you really think about it and put yourselves in their shoes dancing this is such a monumental moment for their family. I always loved Eminem and surprisingly it seems more people than not give me shit for it and I'll say the same thing here as I tell everyone else in person. Eminem, Slim Shady is the single most lyrical intellectual rapper that there is, he is the most passionate rapper that there is and that follows into obviously, him, and it shows. Eminem is an inspiration in the rap community. He has done the exact opposite of what most rap artists fall into with their fame and fortune. Shit much of the time rappers exchange beef in their songs and it ends up on the streets.... and they are rich as hell! I'm not going to act like other rappers daughters don't get married but he is living a life of sobriety and has literally dedicated his career to family. 90's and early 2000's rap was huge in my generation and just thinking back to all the songs me and the buddies were singing in the car we always had the most fun with Slim Shady, maybe it's because we were white lol, but that still doesn't negate the fact his music was filled with passion and creativity. This really is a moment to witness at many different levels. Thank you Slim Shady for showing the world that anything is possible if you pour your heart and soul into it and never ever give up! THAT'S WHY THEY CALL ME SLIM SHADY, I'M BACK, I'M BACK, THAT'S WHY THEY CALL ME SLIM SHADY, I'M BACK, I'M BACK. I MURDER A RHYME ONE WORD AT A TIME, YOU NEVER HEARD OF A MIND AS PERVERTED AS MINE, YOU BETTER GET RID OF THAT NINE, IT AINT GONNA HELP, WHAT GOODS IT GONNA DO AGAINST A MAN WHO TRIES TO STRANGLE HIMSELF! Seriously, maybe I'm just a fucked up mfr but this song is fucking hilarious! 😂

I've been stanning the man ever since I was a kid and I especially liked him because of the songs he made for his daughter. Love or hate the man, he is a great father who got his kids out of the environment he grew up in. I am prouder more than ever to be his fan.
