Yeah I love sports too I especially love historical moments in sports. Here's some history that was made at NCAAW Basketball Championship: 1st time either program Iowa OR LSU had EVER been to the championship game, no matter who won it was gonna be the first banner that school hung, Angel Reese broke the record for double doubles in a season that game setting it at 34, Caitlin Clark broke the record for most points scored in the tournament and set it at 191 points, both teams scores in the game added together were the highest sum of a championship game ever in the league, LSUs score was the most ever in the championship game scored by a single team. They were both great teams that have some stars returning it's a REAL possibility we could see a rematch next year... That aside LSU has an NIL rapper whose dad was a rapper that was killed while she was in the womb. There's so many exciting things about this game and there's so many reasons why they set the viewership record and I was a part of that I watched from tip off to the final buzzer. I'll admit maybe since I'm an LSU fan I didn't pay attention I was too excited that they won, but you know what they're competitive and they're excited. It's not like she PUSHED Caitlin to the floor. People need to grow up. 9 million views for the most historic women's basketball game EVER. And TRIPLE the amount of views for some bleeding hearts spilt tea it's really gross how much it minimizes what was an amazing night for female sports in general and ALL of the athletes involved in it as well. I thought we weren't supposed to be sensitive (granted this was DURING THE ACTION OF THE GAME) but Caitlin Clark was called for a technical foul in the middle of the court for pushing our point guard Alex Morris flat on her ass with her elbow. And I watched the game it looked like a frustration shove. That could've fed into the fued that built up to all the John Cena hand gestures at the end too. But yk what the Tigers did they brushed themselves off and found a way to win the game... BUT THIS IS THE CHANNEL THAT SAYS CERTAIN GENERATIONS ARE TOO SENSITIVE... if you've never played sports before I get that you wouldn't get it. But if you haven't and ESPECIALLY if you didn't even bother to tune in to what was TRULY AN INCREDIBLE GAME AND EFFORT FOR BOTH TEAMS... why tf you mad? Like now YOU have the right to judge what happened after the fact?? Angel Reese is definitely now milking this for that NIL attention since it will get her more money probably, but it's not her fault that something she did in passion became a sensation. Good for her for using it. Some of these girls make their money by basically taking their clothes off she's gonna feed off of the medias vibe instead o respect it. But the fact still stands she didn't cross any lines that night with a simple hand gesture. She did the same motion back she didn't put hands on anyone and she said get me fitted for the ring that we just secured. This is CRAZY

When you’re in the heat of the moment you don’t always think before you act and this is one of those examples. Being a former football player I’ve seen things way worse than this post game with little to no backlash even from coaches. @cadefuxan8026 Sherman made good on that by his future actions in the Super Bowl though, being the first guy to congratulate Brady after the kneel down in the Malcolm Butler game. Regardless though, what Sherman did there (even his famous "sorry receiver" rant against Crabtree) just isn't how we ought to compete. Imho, normalizing stuff like this is exactly how we've gotten to the point we're at. We can compete so, *so* much better.

I didn’t care much about women’s college basketball before this year, but I happen to be an Iowa Hawkeye fan and I did watch a lot this year. If you are a basketball fan and haven’t already, look up Caitlin Clark highlight videos. There’s a reason there were record viewers this year and it wasn’t this controversy-that added to it insanely after the fact. Caitlin won player of the year, broke a ton of records in the tournament and is just fun to watch. She gets tweeted by NBA players who recognize her skills. She also does a ton with the local children’s hospital in Iowa, which is where she found out she won POTY. I know women’s sports will likely never equal men’s in entertainment, but she makes it pretty darn close in my humble Iowan opinion.

One of the rare times I disagree w Brett. This whole situation is so dramatic. It’s gotta be a slow news week when people are spit fire mad over “sportsmanship”. Not dragged through the media.

The one negative thing to what you say is if the trash talk/sign language continues after the championship game is done, it can spark something negative in a charged situation. Brett is responding a lot to the news coverage, which does make it important. I am old school, so I miss the handshake routine we still teach in Little League and they continue in hockey. And at the end of a football game, I love seeing people from opposing teams greeting one another, leaving the trash talk behind. For those of us who only watch the interviews after games, we have had the pleasure of not noticing classless behavior by sports paragons. Glad I didn't know it was going on.

This actually went back to before the day before the game was played. In Iowa's semifinal game, they defeated South Carolina, the defending national champion who was undefeated all season until Iowa upset them. South Carolina had more really tall players than most other teams. They liked to lob the ball into the paint, and take very close shots that no defender could block. Iowa has some tall players, but not as many. South Carolina was not nearly as good at outside shooting. Anyway, the Iowa coaches decided their best chance to win would be to pack the paint on defense, to contest the close shots, and just let SC take undefended outside shots. The strategy worked. Iowa won. And right away, Angel Reese started claiming that by using that strategy, Iowa had "disrespected" and "insulted" SC, and that she, Angel Reese, would not "allow" Iowa to do the same to LSU. (Iowa actually had no plan to, because LSU was much better at outside shooting.)

Some more context that was left out, Caitlin Clark’s “shut up comment you’re down 15” was after Van Lithe said “This is my court b****”. If one of them should be reprimanded for unsportsmanlike behavior then they both should be reprimanded. I don't think what either of them did was that bad honestly like who cares but, I don't think Angel should be reprimanded for clapping back at Kaitlyn. I do agree however, that it's kinda weird to bring race into it but, as for the reactions after the fact it kinda makes sense for the loser to be humble compared to the victor who's running on a high. I guarantee Angel would be just as humble if she got dusted in that championship match. Let her have her day y'know.

She just did what she accused Angel of doing, which is stoke the racial divide by making Angel out to be some black bully and Clark out to be some white damsel. That's why they included that clip of Clark crying. Angel does not have to accept an apology she knows is only lip service (nor should she) that is literally her choice as the recipient of the apology. And as other people have said, she kept it on the court basically and gave Clark her props in the post-game jnterview and literally just accused the media (which Brett herself is a part of and now guilty of doing herself) of playing favourites and making her out to be some ghetto bully while Clark is some noble leader when she talks mad shit as well at alot of her games. I'm not this guy usually, but it is so clearly racism in this instance, and it's just so sad to me. I agree Angel shouldn't have said that stuff about the Obamas because now that paints a target on not just her backs but her teammates as well, but that's all i agree with. Sorry for typing this long ass message. This girl just got on my nerves 😒 lol.

Lol you already know dude they'd shrug it off. A because it was HER move to begin with well actually John Cena's but yeah she did it first. So there would be way less controversy objectively since she wouldn't really be RESPONDING to anything she would literally just be doing what SHE ALWAYS DOES just a bit more aggressively and intensely. And B because she is the leagues SWEETHEART everyone expected LSU to lose most people if they weren't fans of either team probably heard CC was gonna lead them to the ring and it didn't happen. It literally doesn't have MUCH to do with race at all to maybe like 70% of the people. The problem is most people didn't watch the game and see how it all transpired in real time without video edits and shit. You heard Brett 9 million watched the game I was one of them. Triple that saw the beef online and now all those clowns have an expert opinion on the whole shabang! No doubt, there ARE SOME people hating on this tall black barbie doll looking girl for beating the white girl next door I'm just being honest. I'm a conservative, but I've lived in Louisiana my whole life. It's the blackest state in the union and believe me it ain't hard to smell the jealousy of racism that stems from the mid west. CC and LSU may meet again in the same game of the bracket allows it's a real possibility. CC wasn't offended or bothered by it I don't see why people who haven't laced up to play one game this season should be either. CC knows how it goes. If she gets her rematch then she can come back and win it next year she ain't crying over spilt tea. These people are nuts man.
@ifeifesi

A player travels across the court, after they had just won the game to gloat and taunt one of their opponents on the other team. There is no world where that's reasonable, there is no way you can argue that is within the spirit of the game or the spirit of competition. Then all this happened and I think that was legitimately mirrored. Yes, focus is on next year now. If we can replace Czinano and Warnock especially we can certainly get back to the title game, but that said, CC *can* be a little less demonstrative to maybe curb some of this potential bad blood.
