I’m a relatively new recruiter (less than 1 year) and I almost always ask this to start my interview and it is basically for the reasons you’ve said: -Good icebreaker to start a conversation; I hate robotic sounding interviews so this helps -Gives me a brief overview of their work (especially if their resume is a little vague/light on something) -Helps guide my follow-up questions; sure I have questions prepared but I like to get to them more naturally based on our conversation
