Game said “My controversy has always stepped on my greatness, but that’s all about to change.” He Lied. EDIT: A couple of quick notes. There are three places where I misspoke in this piece and should've been clearer. 1. In the piece I say that he's on pace to do 10,000 at this rate. I intended to say 20,000. It's still too early to be certain, but the entire project is being held up by "Eazy." 2. The part where I describe the track as "racist" was intended to be "racial." Thank you to everyone who called that one out. 3. Thank you to everyone pointing out Stan's brother Matthew. The part included in this piece is from a previous draft. The emphasis was intended to be on how weird it was that game shows up to kill Stan's brother. I ended up delivering the wrong version. My bad. "Playas f*ck up," as Dae Dae would say. Thank you all for holding me accountable.

Hit the nail on the head there. It’s not like the guy isn’t talented, I mean yes there are a lot of Em Stan’s that are saying dumb things like he sucks and he was never any good but there are quite a bit more people saying that this was the week song but they are acknowledging that Game is A very talented rapper and he is. Everything he’s done since the Super Bowl has just been Bush league though. You can’t ask Dr. Dre to carry your career for you. Game had all the tools and the talent to be just as big as 50 Cent and Eminem. Honestly after his first album came out I really thought he was on track to be as big as they were. Him leaving Aftermath wasn’t the end, there were still people buying the next couple albums, he still had a lot of respect from most the hip-hop community. Game is in the position he is in today because of bad choices he made. Those choices lead him to this desperate move that has completely backfired on him. I don’t want anything bad to happen to the guy at all. But he has no one to blame but himself. When you constantly put out negative energy into the universe, That’s the energy that comes back to you.

I think that’s Justin‘s point though. And for the record I am someone that has bought every album game has put out except this one, I don’t think he’s ever put out a bad album but he’s constantly done dumb shit that out shines his talent.. He doesn’t need a feature for every song, he’s good enough that he doesn’t need that to rely on it, he could’ve given us 15 songs with six features and it could’ve still been a great album but this just screams of him trying to make sure he’s got a rapper from every style so hopefully even people that don’t like him will stream the song with one of their favorites on it. I don’t think Justin was saying the guy isn’t talented it’s just that everything else around him makes you forget how talented he is and it’s a big turn off to some people. It’s hard for me to be proud of him myself when I know every time he’s going to put an album out he’s going to lie about another man and make up beef for money in clout. It’s one thing to do it to an artist that you didn’t have a relationship before but when you start going after the people that put you on for money and for clout, that’s just prostitution at that point. Anyone that’s going to just turn on people that did nothing wrong to them for financial gain isn’t someone I can respect. I just commented on your post on Twitter but I can reply with more here. I would never say that as an artist that he hasn’t made great music. I’ve bought most of his albums since Dr. Dre signed him back in the early 2000s but I’m done supporting this guy. I really think signing to wack 100 for his management team was where the change happened. I’ve noticed that every artist that wack 100 signs has no problem with just doing scummy shit for attention, wack 100 himself has no problem with talking about a man who isn’t even alive to defend himself for attention and if you’re a rapper what is your manager’s main job? Besides booking your shows it’s doing whatever they can do to get your name out there. I know that game and 50 Cent had problems so it’s one thing to say something about 50 but that has been patched up but Dr. Dre practically gave this man his career, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Eminem all made sure that he had a successful career launch. Go back and look at his first album. The features, the beats, you couldn’t ask for a better debut albums and what Game had. And then on top of that after all of his buffoonery and sneak dissing Dr. Dre back-and-forth over the years Dr. Dre still collaborated with him, still produce songs for him, hell he even produce an entire album for this scumbag. If you really want to look at the difference on why 50 Cent is the entrepreneur that he is today and Game is a pathetic sad shell of himself, look at it like this, 50 Cent was not on Dr. Dre’s third album but 50 did not lose it and act like a child because he wasn’t on that third album the way that Game completely had a meltdown and went through a midlife crisis this year and just had to let every last one of us know that that’s what was really going on that started with “How come I’m not at the Super Bowl” tantrum. This dude has burnt every bridge he had so he better stay friends with Kanye because that’s really the only bridge he has left that can help him. He’s the one that he can blame for his career not being where it should be. What is that girls fault that he doesn’t know “no means no?” Game is going broke, he’s running out of money, I’ve actually been clowned over the years because I was still listening to him but none of my other friends that listen to hip-hop haven’t listened to him since his second album and only when he started going at Eminem and the Eminem haters start pretending like they were in his camp the whole time. But here’s the kicker. Even though they might have his back on social media it’s not going to translate to album sales. They are not going to go buy the album. But do you know who would’ve bought his album if he hadn’t acted like such a hoe this entire year? I would have. I bought every other album he put out this man single-handedly talked a consumer out of not buying his shit. If you’re going to turn on the people that help make you the man you are today for money and clout you’re telling the whole world that you have no loyalty or honor at all. You’re basically a male prostitute at that point and as a man I can’t support that shit. #gameover

If you’re going to sit here and pretend that’s not what’s going on then maybe you need to look in the mirror when you start calling people dumb. And as I said I’m a fan of his the reason I see a pathetic shell of himself was because this guy has the ability to be great. I’ve been clowned for saying things like I don’t think he’s ever made a bad album because I think the dude is capable of making great music. This won’t eat it though. And don’t sit here and play this card that I’m some ultra fucked up person because I made comments like he’s a shell of himself or he’s going bro because there are other people that have said much more fucked up things about entertainers than I just did. Hell some of the things people say about Eminem a lot worse . If he’s going to put out great music for 15 years and one of the best to put out diss tracks, mind you everything he said in that song was much worse than me calling someone a pathetic shell of them self, but if he’s going to put out that track for the world to hear he’s a big boy and he can take the criticism.

Interestingly enough about "Higher," I always thought it sounded like a cousin to the original "Outta Control" by 50 Cent (not the remix that came out with "The Massacre" Special Edition re-release featuring Mobb Deep, the first one). They had the exact same drums, and were both produced by Dr. Dre. "Higher" just has a more classic West Coast feel in the actual music, if that makes sense.

He had real good bars and I see too many individuals online not being able to see it. Logic over emotion. When someone's dissing your favorite rapper, please judge the bars correctly. Some don't understand that, especially some Eminem fans. Now what I want to see go down as a result, is to hear a diss track by Eminem because he can go in to!

G-Unit was a staple in my Hip-hop upbringing; Game of course being a part of that. He was one I watched during their heyday due to the obvious talent and love of the craft. And I can honestly say I've been off the Game bandwagon since 'Doctor's Advocate'... He's been watering down his creativity and relying on having to drum up controversy and name dropping in bars to kick up convo over his music. We slay Kanye for doing the same, as we should; but Game has been doing the same on a different level for a long time. It's like we all see it for what it is, & move on... Everything I’ve heard off that album I’ve really enjoyed, to be honest. The Black Slim Shady surprised me, some of the lyrics and things going on feel more like paying homage fo Em, but yes then there’s just blatant hate like the Big Sean line and the du-rag line, and the line about having no influence on the culture over 23 years… (which Em already addresses on Kamikaze) but if I put my love for Em aside and just listen to the Game rapping, honestly I cannot deny the talent. One one hand it's brilliant to be able to mimic other rappers. He's absolutely on brand. His name is The Game after all so I don't knock him for that. I just think that enlisting everyone in the industry takes away from the art of it all. Game could use an artistic album right about now.

It makes you wonder if after the Super Bowl he would’ve posted a picture of all of them on stage and congratulated them. A week later he calls Dr. Dre and tells him he really would like his help on this new album and explain what’s going on in his personal life to him and let him know how much that would mean. Fast forward six months later we get a dope album with maybe 15 tracks and five or six features which might feature people like Kendrick Lamar, Westside Boogie, Ty Dolla $ign , Snoop Dogg and and maybe even Slim Shady himself. The day before the album drops Eminem could’ve put out a tweet about it so with other people in that NWA family tree and maybe his first week sales are doing something like 110,000 or something like that. That NWA family tree does rally around each other and help each other a lot and I felt like game reached up with a saw and cut his own branch off.

To have the people on his album be the ones who HAVE NAMED Em as a top 5 lyricist is more of an homage than a diss...right???
@AlejandroRamirez-rx1py2 жыл бұрын
There is a difference between the concept of a diss record and the execution of the diss record. While I do like Game as a rapper he can get lost in his own mind when it comes to execution of songs. When he dissed 50 and G-Unit on his longest diss, i believe it was “500 bars”, he had substance to work with. Different beat switches, different cadence and inflections with tight rhyme schemes. But, the cherry on top of this, was the history between him, 50, G-Unit, and Aftermath. He had info that worked with him on all members of the crew and was able to flesh it out and use it to create nice punchlines. However, with this record, there is no history of any fallout with Em. It’s a repeat of what every other artist who has tried to diss Em but failed. And, his attempt to mimic Em’s style doesn’t work nor match the actual person and it falls flat. Plus, 10 minutes!!??? I couldn’t stomach that. I lost my attention span to even digest all he was rapping about. It was weak and just there to grab attention and clout. No, Em should just leave it alone and let it die on its own. That’s the ultimate diss.

I’d listen if Eminem responds but I kinda don’t want him to. The black slim shady wasn’t better than rap devil so why he give it attention. The game is the only person in the world that thinks he’s better than Eminem so why waste time on him? So what if Eminem is a battle rapper? That doesn’t mean he’s gonna battle every single person that steps up. If that were true he would’ve dissed nick cannon and his goon squad after they dissed him TWICE. There is such a thing as letting it go and moving on. The diss the game dropped didn’t motivate me to hear Eminem’s response like rap devil did. There were a few good lines but for the most part it was lame and tiring. There is no beef here, it sounds like he made a bet with himself to do something stupid. It sucks even more because the game can actually rap but that was just bad. Eminem please don’t respond. He said one or two things hurtful in a 10 minute diss

One minor detail change *Stan did have a brother whom got an autograph on his starter cap. @The Company Man 1st of all let me start by saying respect for having Blu’s “Below The Heavens” on your wall! Extremely underrated album… Now this video had a few disappointing moments in it. And let me note for the record I love your content. You implied that game “made up” Stan’s brother. In the song Stan, Stan was pissed at Em cuz he and his 6 year old brother Matthew waited in the blistering cold after his concert to get an autograph and Em didn’t sign for them. This black slim shady recored was very creative and well thought out with details like the above that even went over your head. So there’s a great chance the causal fan won’t get it either. It was extremely disappointing to hear you call the record “racist” I respectfully advise you to look into what racisim actually is. Racisim is institutional and implies power, that power is used by one race of people to oppress another group of subjegated people and negitivly impact their way of life. No black person in this country has the power to do that. Let alone a black rapper being critical of a white rapper for culture appropriation. Game’s last few albums have gone under appreciated. 1992 & born to rap were great albums! Didn’t get love so yes he hyped this album up in hopes to create a buzz to get us talking and to get people to tune in it’s marketing…. In a nut shell I rock with you Justin I just think you missed the mark on this one brother. Peace

That album is fucking 🔥 🔥🔥🔥 Its at least 16-31 tracks that are bangers and the way he used the features was close to perfect… He even got a verse from meek that I like and I hate meek … Cmon y’all in the comments y’all can’t be serious.. This was a classic Album and the producing one as superb .. Album of the year outside of future 🤷🏾♂️ don’t @ me
