Another quick and dirty episode, albeit, less quick. By my assessment, the main rounds of the battle is officially over. Here's a reaction to Drake closing salvo, The Heart Part 6. I'll do another video this week breaking down winners and losers.

Honestly, I do believe you left out perhaps the most salient and important detail to 'Brey's yielding in this track. The interview of himself by himself which was a quarter of the track, it's quite similar to 'Brey going on the shop to be interviewed by LeBron to formally conclude his Pusha T beef. At that point 'Brey waived the White Flag and J Prince requested a parlay for him. I believe the same happened this time someone was potentially seeing their investment eroding. That interview on wax when his bars didn't hit said it all.

The Atlanta verse in not like us - that in the context of Kendrick flexing his cultural power with a quintessential West Coast track that he seamlessly executes. There’s an authenticity that contrasts so starkly. Kendrick IS bigger than Drake in the hiphop lane, that core lane, as a cultural figure. The hiphop core… Drake doesn’t understand it and doesn’t respect it. He wouldn’t walk around with Tupacs rings on. If he did.

I was thinking drake could've taken the "Canadian colonizer running to Atlanta for money" angle and flipped it; talk about how it was southern slaves who fled to Canada for freedom and how that's what he is, an active aide to atl rappers and history repeating like that. Thing is, Drake's ego and narcissism won't allow him the solidarity to pull that off; I think he and his team know that if he tried that angle as a flex it'd backfire horribly. So now it's same old Drizzy; wanna be down with the people but wanna be on top of them at the same time, walking contradiction.

@@matthemming9105 yup, can't be a selfish hero; that's like trying to be Superman but ending up as homelander. Another weak point is how he's never spoken up on any social issues as far as we know, particularly issues facing black people and other POC. I mean, when the George Floyd thing was happening we had lil baby taking off his chains to go volunteer, artists making songs and taking stands, donating money, businesses taking stands, even Beyonce took a stand (drake is not and will not be bigger than Beyonce but that's another discussion); so he can't say doing so would've hurt his image or whatever because it didn't hurt anyone else's. Again, if he's not the center of discussion and the biggest one in the room then he won't be in the room. That's the vibe I'm getting at least

Drake was too short sighted. He played the industry "I'm more successful than you" approach when it should have been exactly what Justin suggested. Boil this whole thing down to Dot being jealous of him in every way. Comfortable upbringing, successful at everything he touches, etc... but Drake was scared of alienating the "poor" black folk. Which seems more of a manipulation than just playing the middle class background vs hood background.

Understand Kendrick made 2 of the Big 3 tap out in 3 months. Drake brought up Whitney in pushups, showing he didnt learn his lesson from Pusha. Dot kept it rap with Euphoria × 616 and in Euphoria told Drake "if you take it there (lying on my family) im taking it further." (Drilling this pdf file narrative to hell and back) The heart 6 was drake showing he wasnt willing to take it as far as Dot was, he conceded. The flaw is You can not tell me the boy planted a shirt that had a "shortee" (kendrick) walking a dog (fatd aka drake) Im more willing to believe the dude that was willing to put your house with pdf files as cover art would ALSO make fake evidence to support the narrative he created within a weeks time. This is where Dot broke the 4th wall, "shape the story how you want, hey drake they're not dumb, the rabbit hole gets deeper aint that something" That's admitting hey this is rap at the end of the day but you decided to bring my family in this so now take this fade. For most of this battle Dot just used public information. The only parts that are up in the air are pdf files and a daughter. on the drake side most of his material on dot was the narrative that drake tried to paint with the little amount of info on dot on the web. Majority of his material was fabrication and dude still said, make 100 records if u want im gone, unless you wanna talk facts all my shit is facts." Like where bro? Lmao

Outside of Drake and Kendrick Lamar DJ Akademiks is by far the most important person in this battle as far as Drake fans imagination. DJ Hed and Rick Ross are important in this to for having a major role behind the scenes and being basically the spokes person for Kendrick. DJ Akademiks and his Team Akademiks on Twitter PURPOSELY misquoted Kendrick lyrics and twisting stories to fit the OV-HO narrative. Following DJ Akademiks livestream tells this story masterfully because it’s chronicles lays out the layers of the story and social media is very important because of Kendrick and Drake imaginative use of social Kendrick with the Easter Eggs and mind games and Drake reaction to social media basically influencing his choice of words on wax. Almost everything in the industry is owned by UMG (the other 2 are Sony & Warner, and they're huge but not even close to Universal, which of course is connected to Universal Studios) Lucian would be named in basically any case like that about literally almost *any* musician. He is a bad guy for everything I know, an extremely connected & powerful Jewish man, but the connection you're trying to make doesn't hold up.

I think that Drake thought that this was going to be another easy rap battle like the one that he had had with Meek Mill. But it’s not. And I also think that he wants to beat Kendrick Lamar in the rap battle because Pusha T had gotten him in 2018

nah i don’t think he’s that dumb. he took a huge L by pusha and he clearly went into this with a different strategy. i doubt he puts meek in the same class either, even though he clearly doesn’t fw kennyz

@@TheCompanyMan I think that's an excellent idea, part of being successful on these platforms is being current/immediate. There are moments on here where you are arguably taking pauses between sentences that are a little lengthy, but I also understand the desire to do these in as few takes as possible and be intentional with your wording, so you're not too bogged down while editing. But, I believe you'll find a balance.

I kinda felt sympathy for the Canadian after the Heart pt 6 He was so demoralized. But he got himself into this mess Great breakdown. You’re correct about Drake missing the mark with making the mistake of thinking Kendrick was the one who was molested Also…IF Drake planted all that info to make Kendrick look bad (I don’t believe him) it backfired because he now looks EXTREMELY bad because DAMN NEAR EVERYONE believes Kendrick

Drake: I am a war general seasoned in preparation Also Drake: Let's Kendrick stomp on his nuclear bomb, then release another song a few hours later. Gives it another day, before responding claiming that the mole was planted, but provides no evidence of it. I don't think Drake is as seasoned as he thinks he is.

Hey Justin. I really appreciate your dedication and hard work towards moving hip hop forward. I have a take about Kendrick Lamar in regards on why Drake’s “tea” never really hurt Kendrick’s image during this battle. I believe it’s because Kendrick is so disciplined and had the foresight to see how this battle may go. Kendrick knew how Pusha-T changed how battles go in the modern era and he understood that unearthing secrets are the new standard. He started to prepare for it years ago. I think he studied Drake during his past battles and started to create an offensive strategy. I think he knew he had to deal with his personal problems first before he could fully commit to this battle also. He becomes truly transparent to the public in “Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers” by exposing his vulnerabilities through song. He talks about cheating on his fiancé. He talks about family trauma. He talks about domestic abuse. He totally “cleansed” himself for any “button” Drake had for him. And at the end Drake had nothing for him. Idk it’s just a theory. Hopefully this comment finds you. I would love to hear your opinion. Once againI love your channel and wish you nothing but success & happiness. ✌🏾 ❤️

I don’t know because then that would mean that Kendrick revolved his career around Drake. No doubt he planned meticulously how and when he’d go after Drake, I just don’t think he started that 5+ years ago. His growth as a man and as a human is definitely genuine, not for the sole reason to cleanse himself of anything Drake got on him. Interesting theory tho, just my 2 cents

I might be reading too much into this but on “not like us” Kendrick says “the family matter, and the truth of the matter, it was gods plan to show yall the liar” Kendrick has been saying this whole beef, he knows the angles Drake is gonna go. Is it possible he predicted Drake would lie about feeding him false info? Not saying Drake is lying cuz we don’t have proof from either side at this point. Just thought that was something to think about. All I know is I’m ready to hear from Kendrick again lol
