@@TheConstantAngler the little wafer looked with it was a last minute thing cut by hand. And the centre of it had an impression that the spool shaft made. That's what the noise was, kind of like then someone tries to start a fire by rubbing a stick. I'm yet to cast with it again, focusing on the purelure now.

@@yep.fishing might be wrong size plastic spool shaft extension. I’m not a lover of this I must admit. I would imagine it will wear the plastic eventually

@@TheConstantAngler yea I reackon you could sand it down it drill/mount a hole in the middle. It definitely needed it though because it had a tonne of side to side play even with the tension cranked. It's as if something is wrong on the tension side because my friend doesn't have that issue.

@yep.ultralight the QC is very hot and miss. Shame could be a great reel

Is this reel good for catching pike with 10-20 gram baits?

@bakasvilisrenatas9990 it’s a bit small really. You want something more a 200 - 300 size. It will throw those lures but will struggle to bring in a good sized Pike as it doesn’t have enough drag.

Hahaha my eyesight is starting to go as well Adrian 😅😅😅 the reel does look like a bit of a chunky turtle. Were you wading in the on the water portion??? Yea, I agree with you that the reel can cast fairly well but that there are other options out there that are a bit better… I’ll likely keep mine to use as a salt water beater reel haha. I have a feeling that DMK makes this reel and given that DMK makes KK reels and they also have had a lot of QC issues in the past it might not be a big surprise… hope they resolve these issues but I dunno I think I’d probably go with a commando over this next time like you suggested…

Thank you for this - love your reviews. I can suggest to upgrade the spool-bearings on the Commando to ceramic for even better performance. I've been casting very light lures with it no problem. Recently got the Mavllos Delicacy C602 and am very much enjoying it.

For A cheap Chinese baitcaster the Ryobi Rammi Ak-2000 Ratio 7.2.1 8kg drag , takes some beating, Really Good Value. Tightlines 😎🐟

It’s cheap on AliExpress say £30 delivered but I wouldn’t buy it. For £15-20 more you could get the Acura Hicc 50 pro with two spools and better tolerances.
