You read wonderfully! I love this poem, it’s so desolate yet beautiful. Thanks!

A fine reading of Goldsmith's lament for an agrarian lifeworld, then in the process of being transformed by burgeoning commerce and industry. A somewhat rose-tinted view of 18C rural life, but, as you say, bearing some striking parallels with of our present discontents. Thank you.

Most enjoyable but my attention was sometimes distracted by the picture of the offshore drilling rig!

I had to stop listening cause this is way too somber. Last week was a real treat. You moved from a comfortable spot with the awesome doggie Gizmo making me smile and laugh & saddened me with a heavy feeling. Oh, and why do you have that painting of a drilling platform on your wall? hardly what i expect to see on the wall of an English country gentleman. I do love the idea of a Wednesday poem. Cheer me up, OK? Love from Kathleen in California

Your reading, as usual, is impeccably lovely, but I strongly dislike this poem. Ruined my night.
