I apologize if this is a dumb question or addressed in another video, but it's it necessary to do the papermache if you are going to cover it with clay? Does it help it stick or is it too build up the right form? I have not worked with air dry clay so just wondering before I attempt it. Thank you so much for the great instructions and diy of something far more creative than all the other diy decor out on KZbin!

Of course it's not a dumb question (in my opinion no questions are)! 😊 I prefer to do it this way to use less clay and I also find it musch easier (although a little bit more messy) to build up the basic shape with papier mache first and then cover it with the clay. 😊 Hope it helped!
