For my son's destination wedding on Clearwater Beach Florida 3 weeks ago, I made 24 sunglass cases from leftover scraps from a camping/ hunting quilt, and a tropical beach theme quilt that I had made before.Camping/ hunting theme for men, and tropical prints for women. I purchased the in R foam and 2 dozen neon colored sunglasses from Amazon. Matched the colors of glasses to sunglass cases, printed thank you notes from computer. Tied them on with ribbon.Everyone thought I was amazing. It only cost me my time and maybe 40$ for glasses and foam. Love all you videos!

I certainly enjoy your tutorials. My 12 year old granddaughter is coming for a week's visit and her mother warned me I would have to help her keep up with her glasses. As I had wanted to introduce her to sewing, I've decided this would be the perfect project to make one of these cases for her glasses. Hopefully she will use it when she removes her glasses and your tutorial will encourage her to begin sewing. Thanks!

Great tutorial, thanks. I decided to make this for my husband who is always misplacing his spec cases. I have the R Foam you mention but sometimes it creases and it's hard to get the crease out. So I decided to use some heavy duty one sided Fusible Stabiliser. I am very pleased with how it turned out, sufficiently padded. Oh I added a handy pocket inside to keep a wiping cloth.

Hello there Miss Crafty. Just wanted to stop by and say these Tutorials are Great😄👍😄👍😄I tried the Childrens Fleece cap & it came out Great, but for some reason it was to small. I totally shocked myself in just how Store Quality it came out to look, but afain it came out to small😞😞😞I fallowed Everything to the 1/4 inch seam allowance and it came out smaller than my 6vyr old Granddaughters head. Her gead measurements were the Same as Your measurements so I'm stumped, but over all. Thank You for teaching this youbg lady some Bew tricks. I haven't sewn in Over 30 Years and I had accidentally came across your Tutorials on "How Too's" and you peaked my interest. So low & behold this Grandmother pulled out her sewing machine and started doodling around again & All because of YOU 👍😄👍😄👍This has been really fun again trying something new. Now I'm looking forward into trying your Sunglass Cases. You Definitely made it look Easy. You're very good in your Teaching skills also. Well again. Thank You Honey for Teaching this "Young Girl" 😉😉some New & Easy tricks. Keep them coming 👍😄👍😄👍

Great fun tutorial, thanks. I stitched an applique on my outer plain fabric first not realising I would need to fold over the short edges. I took a chance and stitched it lengthways (unlike you say in the video) so that my applique would stay the right way up. I then cut two inches off the bottom. Luckily the opening is plenty wide enough...pheew! That will teach me to listen through the video before starting!

YOU are an excellent teacher, Vanessa! ☺ Seven years after you made this tutorial, I searched for "sew sunglasses case" and chose your video first. I have never seen your videos but now, I've subscribed because you have inspired me! I haven't sewn in years but I have a new sewing machine and need a new sunglasses case so here I am. My sunglasses were just floating around in my purse and as hard as I tried to keep them from scratching, it didn't keep one of the arms from breaking. 😔 I am very sensitive to light so I had to rush out for a new pair and now, I need to protect them. Thank you for the links to the products you used. I was sure that the interfacing was going to be a problem for me. Can you (or anyone else) tell me what that little tab is for? 🥴 Thanks a million! I'm excited to go visit your page now. 🤗🥳

Vanessa, I would also suggest instead of the little handle using elastic so u\you can place the case around the visor in your car. Not sure of anyone else but I am forever looking for my sunglasses in the car. Now I just need some of the In-R-Form-Plus to make these. Hmm maybe stocking stuffers in the making.

I love the Sunglasses case tutorial. I created the original and one that has a pocket too. I do have a question. I am fairly new to sewing. I am wondering if you have a different foot on your machine that is narrower so you can accomplish a close the edge top stitch on the "tab" part of the case . I had a hard time keeping a straight line so close to the edge of the narrow fabric. Any thoughts or suggestions for improvement is welcome.

I had some left over patchwork style fabric left over after making a toiletries bag for my mum... thought what can I do with the left over bit. It's exactly the right amount for her glasses and I'm currently living as an expat in Saudi Arabia so it's not always easy to get all the craft stuff (I can't get the inter form plus? Excisecyhe spelling) I'm going to use regular warm and natural cotton batting instead but wanted to say thank you for an easy to follow tutorial C.G. 👍💖

One thing I learned the inconvenient way ... measure your glasses, as some are wider than others. My glasses are over sized, so they're larger than some. I also used a thin velcro strip, to keep my glass from ever slipping out.

Super easy and super cute! I feel like I screwed up somewhere along the line because I never sewed through the fusible fleece I used (and I swear I measured everything correct). Mine looks to be a bit wider than yours 🤔 I’m sure it will work out great. If it’s a little wide I’ll just take in the seams a tad more! Thank you for this super cute and easy to follow tutorial! Can you tell me the point of those tabs? I don’t see a purpose, but if they are actually used for something I’d love to know!
