Always been amazed how guy will carry parts for years instead of taking 10 or 20 bucks less. I seen the same guy have the same parts at a Harley swap meet for 5 years.

Long Beach used to be my favorite auto parts swapmeet when I lived in SoCal. Glad that it is still going strong.

That is something I miss about CA. There were 20 or 25 of us from ADP Sam Ramon used to go on Swap Meet Sat. I bet I swapped more hotrod parts than anyone. Sacramento was my favorite rod and parts swap meet! Thanks this was fun!
@SHOdown132 жыл бұрын
The size of that swap meet is incredible. Here in South Jersey they're hardly a quarter of the size. 1 recommendation next time, slow your camera panning down, some of us are trying to scan the tables just to see what's there.

Lots of neat stuff...but I'm blown away at the prices people pay today. I graduated HS in 1960 and thought stuff was high then! I've been a Ford rodder for a long time, starting with a 1956 T-Bird, moving on to a 289/271 Mustang in 1965. One think that I haven't had direct contact with would be the 410 engines. I hear them called FE, and also MEL. I've also been told that very few parts will interchange, and the deck is not at right angles to the bore. BTW, I'm 80, and still fascinated with what is now being done in the hobby! And hey, I still have Fords, A Focus SES coupe, an F-250 with about 15k on it. Plus my hanger queen, a 50th Anniversary design 03 T-Bird. Pretty minty, and I keep it upon the lift, so I don't pile stuff on it like so many hidden away collectable cars and trucks!

OMFG Freiburger actually sold parts instead of just hoarding them away? What has the world become? Those rusty valve covers.. a couple minutes in a bead blaster and then paint and there'll be nothing wrong with them.
@marksearcy97082 жыл бұрын
Awesome swap meet. I would be broke in min. Congrats on the part's score. I guess you know who the guy was that sold out of parts. That was David Frieburger from HOT ROD MAGAZINE and Motor trend. You never know who you will meet.

Wow man, I’m envious of the swap meets you guys get out there. In Phx, Az there’s an auto swap every first Sunday at the local community college.. we’re lucky if we get 10-15 vendors 😆 it’s just too hot out here.
@nickgrillo48302 жыл бұрын
It used to be big, but this last Sunday even with decent weather it was dead. It doesn’t help that the cost to sell stuff there has been increased pretty significantly

🇺🇸👍 good haul of stuff, that skinny intake manifold was for a 2.8 V6 ford I picked on up 15 years ago at pic a part for $22.00 sold it 5 years later thinking I’m never going to need it for $225.00 Now I have 2 motors that could use them. Can’t find used and new was $600.00-800.00 2 years ago👍🥩🥔🌽🥛🍪💤

way better than anything my cousin goes to in Florida. Daytona was a waste of time . he spent literally $5 and $1 was for a cold water and $4 for 2 rattle cans of primer
@todddenio32002 жыл бұрын
When you were talking with the guy about the valve covers and told him you weren’t sure if he said $25 or if he said $45, and he was still replying back to you when you cut him off and offered him $40, you offered it too soon. If you actually listened to him he was starting to tell you that he wanted $45 but $25 would be acceptable. Lesson learned from this ? Let people finish speaking and don’t cut them off because it could cost you in one way or another. Yes $5 was saved but savings of $20 was thrown away for it
