I'm a strong man. I raised a family, took care of my elderly mom and help my grandchildren. And, I still work a 40 week. Why do my eyes well-up everytime I hear this girl sing. From riding in my work truck and heard the song Linger played the first time till today. She touches something so deep I didn't even know it was there.

I still tear up every year when someone on the radio plays a song in her memory and remids me of this fact. I don't know why I'm so touched by her voice or why I'm so sad for her passing... She was definitely one of a kind.

"My Mother... My Mother... She'd hold me... She'd hold me, when I was out there... " I always tear up at that part. For years I suffered in the unrelenting darkness, that is addiction. My own mother never gave up on me; even during the times I had given up on myself. Glad to say I'm now 7 years sober. Thanks Mom, & Dad for carrying me when I was too weak to walk on my own. I Love you more than any words can convey.

+Stephen Troup It's never too late to go home. That's something my mom and dad always tell me, and now I'm telling you. It's never too late to tell the people you love that you care about them. I don't know you, and I don't know your story, but whatever is keeping you and your family apart, in the grand scheme of things, it's probably smaller than you think it is.

My condolences to you, Aunelia for the loss of your mom to Covid-19. I lost my mom to Covid-19, too, June 12, 2020. Luckily, I had a really good talk with her on 4/21/20, a few weeks before she got the virus and went into the hospital. I will always remember that last conversation with my beautiful mom. Anyway, this is a beautiful song. So sad Dolores is gone. Too young. Only 46 years old when she passed.

I actually can't listen to this without crying. Dolores is the patron saint of Limerick. Growing up in Limerick and getting into music, The Cranberries were the proof that it was capable to come from Limerick as an alternative band and be successful. I have been lucky enough to have met Dolores & Fergal and spend time with them and they were beyond kind to me. She is truly missed & their legacy and impact on Irish music [and especially around Limerick] will never be forgotten. Happy Patricks Day 2021.

My favorite verse in this song is "my father, my father he liked me..." As a father of 5 adult children and numerous grandchildren my greatest joy is in the adult relationship and, though I've always loved them, actually liking them is something extra special. Sometimes that doesn't make sense, but liking is a qualified acceptance while love is unqualified acceptance because of who or what they are.

Same can be said about the Scots and Nordic people, especially Swedes, Norwegians and Icelanders. Those are really the best when is comes to making authentic music that touches hearts and expresses true emotions.

@@torstenscholz6243 The only Icelandic music i know is Bjork :) But yes, Swedes too. I think the churches in these countries help with keeping and passing down musical traditions. Egypt has strong musical culture as well kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppyZnXR7o9CLprs

The year was 1994, I was 11 years old. This cassette (No Need to Argue) was stuck in my Dad’s tape deck. We listened to this on repeat. I cannot express how much this entire album was the backdrop of my formative years as a pre-teen.

Rest in Peace, dear Dolores! Thank you for your songs, from Russia with love... I like this song very much... This song charmed my old father on TV in 90ths... He liked you so! This wonderful voice, your sweetness, and these dimples on your cheeks... And all the words of that song, I translated it for him... Now you left us... Farewell... But your song will be with us and in our hearts forever...
