I'm a strong man. I raised a family, took care of my elderly mom and help my grandchildren. And, I still work a 40 week. Why do my eyes well-up everytime I hear this girl sing. From riding in my work truck and heard the song Linger played the first time till today. She touches something so deep I didn't even know it was there.

Growing up in Limerick and getting into music, The Cranberries were the proof that it was capable to come from Limerick as an alternative band and be successful. I am 42 years old , i grew up listing to you're beautiful voice , you got me through some very hard and sometimes lonely nights , the 90s to me were the best times of my life , there was so much honesty in music and my dear Dolores you were right up there , yesterday when i heard that you left us , i was just in utter shock , i was sitting in my living room with my oldest daughter next to me , i could not believe it , i did not want to believe that you left us , but as soon as it actually hit me , a couple of tears fell from my eyes , my daughter knowing how much i love your music and you she reached out and held my hand , she did not say a word but in that moment she knew what we have lost ...we sat there together as we listened to Dreams ...and even that moment that you gave me with my daughter i thank you my Dolores ...i will so miss you and you will always in a special way be with all of us 90s kids ..we love you Dolores . My favorite verse in this song is "my father, my father he liked me..." As a father of 5 adult children and numerous grandchildren my greatest joy is in the adult relationship and, though I've always loved them, actually liking them is something extra special. Sometimes that doesn't make sense, but liking is a qualified acceptance while love is unqualified acceptance because of who or what they are.
@familyman35733 жыл бұрын
I tell my kids, "I'll ALWAYS love you, even when I don't particularly like you." I'm not sure they really understand that (too many people think love is just an intense liking), but someday they will.
