The Crazy Horse is wonderful! I have a small, one man cabinet shop and this thing is perfect for moving full sheets of plywood by myself. I don't know how I ever lived without it!

Hi, I actually landed one of these crazy horse dollys at our shop. We deal millwork as a commercial vender and play with a lot of high volume fabrication. The past two years designers specified particle board or melamine which for most people is very heavy, and I turned my back a couple times in the past handling the material by myself. Now that I been using the crazy horse dolly, it's like a vacation compared to the material I used to handle manually by myself. It is pretty much a second helper and to me holds a good value at our shop. Very good design indeed!

Thanks for the review Tommy! More shops are recognizing the health benefits of having the Crazy Horse hanging around in their shop. Fewer lost days, less having to deal with worker's comp issues, and even a more motivated and effective workforce. In short, more production with less hassle. Very positive ROI.

We received one of Larry's prototypes. The guys in the shop love it. It tracks beautiful with our edgebander doing larger counter tops. They are starting to see the benefits of moving sheet goods around to the CNC and panel saw too. Great job on this Larry. We will be ordering another very soon.

I have been evaluating a first run prototype, I am a one man small shop. My space is very limited and the space up to the table saw is narrow, I was not sure I could rotate sheet goods from floor to table saw without the the sheet sliding off the dolly. I was surprised by how well the dolly head grabbed the sheet without sliding! Moving sheets from my truck to the storage rack was a real pleasure, this should allow me to do this kind of work for many more years (I am 65). I would highly recommend this product

Thanks for the review, Bruce. As you stated, most operators don't see the advantages of the dolly until they actually try it, then it's a no-brainer. Takes about 5 seconds to know you're on to something that will make a difference in your daily operations.

I have had the Crazy Horse since mid-February. Wow, it does everything I was hoping it would do after watching the videos. The first project was 2 sheets of the slickest material on earth -- factory prefinished maple plywood. Furthermore we had to move over a 2" concrete ledge into a garage. I placed a couple of strips of 3/4 inch plywood as a step. The wheels on the dolly cleared this with no problem. I wish I could have had this years ago.

In the past, when I needed to move sheet goods to the panel saw I would start up the forklift to pull material from the panel rack and then start up the vacuum lift. Not anymore!!! With the Crazy Horse Dolly I can quickly pull a sheet of material and load the saw with little effort, and except for the occasional whinny, with a lot less noise. Best accessory in my shop!

Customer Pete Meltzer had this to say:Hi Larry : you can add this to your youtube page and as an edit to my email you already posted on your web page. When I bought my CrazyHorse it was primarily for a couple of years in the future when I’m retired and I will be working by myself but I got it now and put it in the shop where I work. I am primarily in the office these days doing drafting and project management but it’s a relatively small place and so for 2-300 hours a year I’m in the shop when we need to meet a deadline. Last week was one such week and I was able to use the Crazy Horse dolly regularly. Doing a 1/2 dozen sheets of pre-lay pl lam on pbd, normally I would have cleared the isles of all the stuff backed up for delivery and used the fork lift to get the pbd to the laminating station, but it’s so easy to steer around a big sheet on the CHD that it was faster just to fetch the sheets one at a time and steer around the obstacles in the way. Next up for me to do was to rough out for 200 l.f. of 1 3/4” x 3 1/2” red oak bullnose. Our 8/4 red oak was 10-14” wide and 12’ long. It was heavy. We don’t have a straight line rip so I put the CHD 10’ behind the saw, rested the front of the board on the saw table and back on the CHD and ripped the oak down to 4” widths. It made a very cumbersome job easy. A couple of things I will mention that are not complaints but things to keep in mind : 1) Larry does it so seamlessly in the video that you don’t even notice it but there is some technique to be learned in kicking away the dolly when you’ve reached a part of the operation where it has rolled into your way. 2) The caster wheels on it will jump 1/4” steel plate but they’ll stop in their tracks if you have a hard 3/4” edge from plywood on your floor w/o some kind of bevel on the edge. 3) If you’re using it as an outrigger on your table saw, say you are cutting a 20” pc off a 96” length of ply on a Unisaw, sweep the floor of any debris in the way. Even though I’ve only had it for a week I can highly recommend the Crazy Horse Dolly to anyone in the trade. The smaller the shop the more indispensable it’s likely to feel, but I could see it having a useful role in large shops as well. Pete Meltzer

I've used the Crazy Horse Dolly for several months now. It is an indispensable tool in my custom furniture shop. The design is well honed. It works great. I almost kind of laugh moving large sheets of laminated ply from my press to my CNC by myself with so little effort. It's easier than using a 4 wheeled cart by a fair margin. I easily move stuff I would have no chance of moving by myself. Highly recommend it. As basic and essential as a table saw.

Thanks! And thanks to Timothy! One of my main concerns was that the dolly would have too many parts or need some complicated mechanism, especially for the pivot point. It takes some doing to abstract something like this and still have all the function. It turned out just as I imagined, which is a rare thing! Thanks for subscribing and once I catch my breath, I will be sharing other simple solutions for the shop.

To All: I wrote what's below in a private email to Larry this morning and I thought it might be useful to post here. Hi Larry: I’m going to tell you a little story that I hope you find as interesting and fortunate as to the timing as I do. I’m 59 and have been in the woodworking business since I turned 18. In 2 years I will be retiring and setting up a shop to build what I want. I have been saving money and driving towards this goal for many years and it is now close enough that the anticipation has gotten distracting (835 days). Every year for the last several years. I have built 1 piece over the holidays for someone in the family. This year my niece was next in line and all she wanted was a very straight forward bookcase unit over a couple of drawer units as a (nicer) replacement for some old Ikea stuff in her bedroom. We had some sheets of rift white oak in the shop (A-1 pbd core 3/4 x 4 x 8) leftover from a previous job that were just what I needed so I grabbed 5 of those and put them on a cart. Now, we have a beam saw here and I haven’t worked in a shop w/o a beam saw since I was in my 30’s, but I won’t have a beam saw in my new shop as I'm going to be a 1 man operation. I will be buying a big slider. And we have a big slider here that hardly ever gets used so I thought this was a good time to get some practice on what will soon be my new normal. It was 25 years ago when I last had to load panels on to a table saw w/o the benefit of a hydraulic table lift and a tow motor or having people around to help. Wrestling those 5 sheets onto the slider was REALLY DIFFICULT for me and I gauged the B side of two of the panels badly. Part of it was I was unpracticed in my technique. Most of it was the horrifying realization that I’m much weaker then I was when I was 30. Suddenly I’m wondering if all my planning and saving contained a fatal flaw, can I realistically handle what I need to do in a shop by myself? This happened on Friday evening. Saturday I came in and worked all day on the piece and and all day it’s running thru my head, “what am I going to do about this? I’m mostly looking to do solid wood furniture and lumber is more manageable but there will be times I need to use panel products. And if it’s this hard at 59 whats it going to be like at 75?” Around 6 in the evening I wander into my office to get off my feet and flip on the computer to check my email and I click on the "Week in Review". And I watch your video and it’s like all those worries melted away and my dream is back on track. Thank you, Pete Meltzer

Thanks Peter! I would not have continued to work in the business had this little dolly not come to mind. Everything I tried was just too awkward, bulky, damaging to the material, too expensive and generally no less a pain than being without it at some point. I hope others like yourself who love woodworking can extend and enjoy the craft for many years past when we thought it was over because of this simple device. I have seen pics of your work, and I hope you keep turning out beautiful pieces for many years that will be cherished by your family long after we are gone.Larry

Hey Jerry, thanks for subscribing. I have not gotten all the ducks in a row with the sales end of the Crazy Horse. I am working on what may be the last work out of my shop this weekend and then will be full-time on the dolly. I have decided to make up to 100 of the prototypes available to anyone who would like to purchase the beta version. I composed a "form letter' to hopefully help to get anyone who wants one to get one at a discount plus shipping. The following is how that will work. I only have about 5 prototypes left but since I am not yet geared up to produce the final version I anticipate building some more just so as not to disappoint some of the inquiries I am getting. As you can imagine, at $200.00 there is not a lot of room for error in my pricing but I am confident that the more shops use it the more business I will generate. I am willing to make one prototype for each shop that orders one at that price, with the condition that I get feedback from the user to me personally and a comment on my youtube channel with one of the videos. I am afraid I have not set up for credit cards and did not plan on it until sometime in January, so if you do wish to get one of the prototypes at this price, plus shipping costs, let me know through email. I will honor any orders I get for a single prototype, (up to 100 total prototypes) until midnight December 29, 2017. The orders will be sent out on a first-pay-first-ship basis, starting the first week of January, with payment received by check via US Mail and made out to Larry Lee, at my shop address of 105 King Road, Carriere, MS, 39426. I am doing this solo for now so cut me a little slack if I happen to hit a snag. I will keep you informed about my progress and your order. Please Note: If you are not within driving distance, ie local to me, the two week trial period, and pick up if you don't want it, is not being offered so keep this in mind before you order. If you prefer to wait for the final model, I will notify you when those units are ready and we can go from there.Either way, in the meantime, Have a Merry Christmas and the best New Year ever!
