I'm in the process of pulling my second huge palm tree stump! The only way I know how to do it is to simply dig it out with a shovel, pick axe and a lot of sweat. Almost got the second one three feet wide! Hard, hard work but it's getting done.

@@jessesouls69 My advice is that the wider you dig, the better, so you'll have to move alot more dirt! If you're doing this yourself, charge way more. Those were the same three tools that I used as well. Those thin roots are a nightmare, trust me!! Also, if you can use a canopy to shield you from the sun, you'll fare much better. Good luck with what you are about to undertake.

Exactly you said, I tried everything. Must be a Universal Law, you can not burn a Palm Tree /stump. One match can burn a Home down but No amount of gasoline can burn a palm tree stump

I've been breaking down a 4 foot diameter palm tree stump for over a month now using a chainsaw, reciprocating saw, and axe. The chainsaw keeps getting clogged because the material is soft and watery and causes the chainsaw to jam up. These palm trees are truly things from hell and I hate them!

I have 3 palm tree stumps in the yard. I put a fire pit around 1 and that's where we burn stuff all the time. It's getting rid of it slowly but surely. Let some diesel soak into it and it helps. I'm in no rush to get rid of them though.

I have 6 palm trees, full grown, put by the previous owners next to the outside walls of my backyard house... The roots are growing into the house or something since water gets in from somewhere when the sprinklers turn on... really looking to a easy cheap solution but i think renting a grinder is going to be my next step... I dont think i'll be able to get the roots since it's wrapped around the outside wall... very aggravating.

Lmao... that shit was dead the second you cut it down. Dig around the base using a shovel and an ax [axe] to cut through the roots all the way around. Digging down about 16 inches and the stump will be completely exposed. Split it or cut it out in sections using a chainsaw. Sometimes there's just no easy button and palm stumps are tedious work. Will take about 8 hours but the stump will be bye bye.

The best way is too dig up the whole stump and physically remove the roots. You might as well dig the stump out cause then you can plant other things there

I have same problem i dug around it got it loose tied it to 4x4 truck pulled the shit out of it and only about a foot came flying out broke back window and landed on dashboard. I dont water it i poured all kinds of shit on it i got a gypsy lady to come and curse at it and the fucker is still wouldn’t die. Finally i got some dynamite and blew a 4 foot deep hole out and it shot the stump the roots and a shitload of dirt all over cops came put handcuffs on me and just ended up giving me a fine but i got the fucker out

This is nothing , try removing a Golden Cane Palm tree with mutiple clumps . I had to remove a whole fence just to start , then it was a whole long weekend of 3hr intervals + Red bull . Scrape , saw , dig , hack , pry repeat . To this day I still spray round-up on the spot just to curse the ground . I believe this is what Lawyers do in Hell !

There is this thing called stump out, it's a powder thing. You drill holes in a v shape or more like a check mark ✔ shape and put the powder in there and some water over the powder to level with the top surface and let sit for sometime repeat few times and it will rot out

Have you tried Muriatic acid? We just cut ours down yesterday. I went with drilling holes and pouring Muriatic acid. I covered it with a black plastic bag and am using it as a plant stand until it dies and rots.

I tried same for weeks, so I call Home Depot, the guy came told me they can no grind it because is to close to the fence and the house, he says there is no room for the Machine to work. So I am on square One. I try burning it / but I do not have the big Drum as is suggested by someone. So I started with the reciprocating saw. I learned that palm tree stumps are something from Hell,. Is not wood-like when you cut a regular tree, this is horrible stuff it comes out sike sawdust but sandy like. My only option is to keep using the reciprocating saw together with the Circular saw, is going to take me days. I have dug A BIG HJOLE AROUND IT so I can step and use the circular saw. I will post the day is finished.

Recently, I encountered a similar problem. I was trying to remove a stubborn(and healthy/strong) Palm root for my neighbors. I eventually got the entire stump out. Wasn’t worth the time I spent. I dug extensively, by hand and shovel old school (over three days). Dug About a couple feet out from the base, I went down at least four feet and all around. I then used a sawzall(with an extended blade) to clean up the unnecessary roots in and around the stump. Finally, I double wrapped 1/4” cable around the deepest part of the base of stump and firm around the stump. Attached it to my 4x4 pickup (trailer hitch with is importantly attached to my trucks frame) and pulled it out. My truck was smoking! Lol 😂
