I'm so glad the video has made it feel less intimidating for you. Once you know that simple rule, it's really just practice you need! Thanks for the video suggestion, too! I was hoping people would want more, so I'll keep that in mind for a future video! Happy Holidays!

YAY! Glad to have you! Yes, the angle... I don't see how it's "dizzying" since most people do tilt their page when they write, but I guess some are sensitive to it, it seems. Glad it didn't bother you but I will still try to improve it for my new video for those individuals who had an issue. Thanks for commenting and subscribing! xo

I've done graffiti style lettering since middle school and it's developed decently since then.. BUT - it's greatly impacted my handwriting/printing to the point that my basic, everyday writing all resembles "wild style" graffiti... it looks great to me and other graffiti artists - but it's super hard for some to actually make out the words! Time to start developing pretty calligraphy style writing - so I don't have to go 'basic & boring', but my written thoughts can be easily understood!

Hey, Selenia! Have you done any hand-written lettering in that past? Sorry to hear you found the video confusing. This video is in preparation for my next Christmas Card tutorial, maybe you'll like that better. I've already got my Christmas videos all planned out for the season and very little time to do them since I'm traveling home for the holidays. Another cheater method I use is to do the initial hand drawn word with a brush and then trace over that onto a new piece of paper and clean up the lines as I go. I have fairly shaky hands so my brush work doesn't always look as clean as I would like it. Tracing over it allows me to clean up strokes that were too thick or too thin or angles that don't flow as nicely as they should.

I want to learn everything about this from you. Do you sell an alphabet we can trace til we learn it? Something we can buy? Also is there a lined paper we should buy to practice on? Can you tell me what and where to buy it? /everything else we need. I have ordered every supply from this first video. THANK YOU.
@TheCreativeGlow7 жыл бұрын
Hey Constance! I read all the messages you left on a few of my videos, I'll respond to all here! :) First, it's nice to see that you have watched and taken an interest of several of my videos - that's what I like to see!! :) I don't sell any fonts myself... at least not at this point. If you're just using the fonts for practicing your calligraphy there are lots of "free" and "free for personal use" fonts online. My favourite place to find fonts is dafont.com... and no, I am no way affiliated or sponsored by them, I've just been using that site for many years... but there are lots of others out there. When it comes to lined paper you can use any lined paper. You might be able to find a lined pad for practicing calligraphy at a craft store... I know Michaels craft store sells calligraphy supplies so maybe check there if you have one near you. I don't use any special paper myself, but it does help some people for sure - whatever works for you! :) I'm glad you appreciate that I like to include lots of detail in my videos! Even though I do love to hear from my subscribers and viewers I like to give enough detail that people hopefully won't have any questions.... or at least not be left completely confused at the end. When I other inspectional videos myself that is always frustrating. Lastly, I do plan on doing some other videos on calligraphy and card-making in the future; thanks for your suggestions as well! Stay tuned for those videos and I hope you'll like them! :) Have an awesome day! :)
