I stopped your video @3:13 to say THANK YOU....Thank You for saying just how long it took you to begin and become good at creative hand-lettering. I will officially begin my hand lettering journey in a small Michael's journal I got myself years ago and have now realized what it's PERFECT for! PLEASE make more video on your hand lettering....I'd certainly watch them ALL faithfully!

Oh my goodness! I have like everything you mention pretty much but I am such a scatter brain...I am 52 and I have been a paper and pen lover all my life but until only recently did I open that part of myself in an attempt to get through a very deep depression after being diagnosed with the family killer of 50 year olds in my family heart condition...this video is literally direction for me...it is so clear the one thing I have not given myself is time. I am a visual learner and youtube has been pivotal to this process for me...having to retire as a midwife and having to reset myself as a certified medical assistant in a cancer center...from birth to life and facing ones own at a young age is a good reason to be depressed so I refused medication...and dug sown inside of me...I am so excited for what your video is for me! Thank you so so much for being who you are and sharing it...I am gratefulfor this.

Great video! I started practicing brush lettering and calligraphy in the beginning of February, so its been almost a month and I am so excited by the craft. Like you said its not a burden to practice everyday, its fun! I am so glad you addressed that hand lettering is very different from your handwriting. Im am trying to tackle brush lettering, watercolor and traditional calligraphy all at once. Videos like yours are super helpful! Thanks =]

Loved hearing YOUR story, you are very talented. What I did not like about Creative Lettering and Beyond, two things I wanted to do from it was the wc/gouache lettering and the chalkboard lettering. This book had 4 authors, yet none of them thought to specify what brush to use for the wc/gouache, or how to seal the chalkboard art. Argh!

I will surely remember your tips and One day, maybe, If I became a professional at this, I will come back and say, "Yes I did it." so thank you so much for that 💜💜💜💜💜💜

So the second book you showed focuses more on calligraphy and the use of a nib and fountain pen. Your pens are brush tips and tombows, so if I buy these (because I love the look of the strokes!), can I only do handlettering? I guess I am just confused as to how you use that second book since it requires entirely different equipment.
