Effie said they left her in the dark because no one told her what was going down. She really thought she was about to get arrested for the drugs. When they tested it and it was sugar she was just as surprised as them. But she’s smart so she put 2 and 2 together. She probably called Cane afterwards and he told her what was going on, so that’s why she showed up at the tejada’s afterwards.

I honestly was looking for the writers to eventually turn Saxe to be in Tariq’s side & actually start having a change of heart & look at the Justice system for what it is etc. i mean they did push him out from becoming Captain.
