The Derek-Alex brothers case: It is hard to determine the extent of disception. However, I don't think the boys would have reacted the way they did if it hadn't been for Ricky's influence and involvement in theiir lives. He was the manipulator, not their father. Guilt was on the part of all three, with Ricky being the catalyst.

The entire US is too keen to charge children as adults! They aren't adults! In my opinion we should have a "juvenile serious crimes court "and special facilities for crimes like that. Its just not right! Tell me how a child who cant buy beer, or serve in the military, but can end up serving life. The first crime still makes me hopping mad. Those boys minds were twisted by a predatory pedophile. Such a sad case.

seriously?? so, letting them get away with murder would be better? strange way of thinking.
@perrydowd92852 ай бұрын
@@eelihzuhbeth That's not what I said. Criminal responsibility is present if the child is over 10. However, the procedure for people under 18 differs due to their level of maturity. I would agree that the punishments for younger people are too lenient now, but the separation still needs to be there. If I seemed flippant in my comment, I apologise. I'm just very jaded about this whole school shooting thing. Intervention only seems to happen when it's too late and by that I mean, the warnings are usually there for a long time, but nothing is done until after they've become murderers.

Too many people in America pay lip service to how kids aren't raised right, but won't spend any resources on helping but are always in favor of throwing more resources into incarcerating them. Just a thought is all about narration on tape. Good posting just sad that with a death and or an incarceration the amount of lives that are affected by some times selfish or lack of thought act isn't ever touched on by the guilty or really anybody else , it's an open wound that doesn't heal for a lifetime , I guess if people looked at it that way maybe these type of crimes wouldn't happen.. I remember the Nathaniel Brazill case, I was in high school not far from his middle school, next town over in palm springs. I was a 10th grader was last day of school. I remember everyone I knew wanted max sentencing for him and life in prison don't matter the age. Even the news stations casted him as a really bad person. This case brought a few changes to palm beach county schools when it happened, no longer was so EZ to just get inside a school during session, had to check in and leaving school in middle of day, say for lunch, was a thing of the past too

I don’t have any idea how we should even approach punishing children for this type of crime. I mean yes there are children out there who are extremely abused. That’s not an excuse for their actions but when you are basically put in a position where you feel like they to you or the person abusing you. I don’t understand how we can have battered women’s syndrome but there is nothing for children l. Again not an excuse for murder but honestly I don’t always agree with prison for life when there are clear signs of mental health issues. I honestly feel like Rick had a lot to do with WHY they boys did what they did and if he wasn’t SAing Alex then he was definitely manipulating him. Derek was clearly not in a good place mentally so Ricky was probably manipulating him as well.

So were the boys the set of twins that were not genetically Terry's? I see alot of adopted kids or non-bio kids delete thier parent or parent that is not biological.I believe disease lives in genetics and the enviroment a kid is raised in either triggers or stops the mental/personality pathways that lead to psychopathic behaviour. Trauma creates the worst monsters - The s*xual abuse could have triggered this reaction - or if they are Terrys sons - the separation and being adopted caused so much distress it stopped the bond forming and instead affected the boys irreversibly .

The Antoine-Linda Case: Injustice. Maybe she received a harsher sentence due to the fact that she killed her own flesh and blood, and the familial betrayal of siding with such an unworthy jailbird as Antoine over her very own mother (who was never abusive toward her and wanted what was best for her daughter) seemed so outrageous that it weighed on the jury's minds.
