Very happy to see this is back up. Now, my take on the issue: This video is extremely transformative. I know this because I can listen to the entire video without watching any of it, and still get the full effect. It's practically a podcast but with something to look at to keep your eyes busy. As a KZbinr myself, I see Tony's point about at least asking permission to use the video footage before using it, but I disagree with the fact that he would say no. I've legitimately had people ask if they can blatantly reupload my footage before, and I've said no in those cases. However, I've also had people ask me if they can use my videos for a bigger video project they're making, in which case I generally oblige. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a hater. I don't hate Tony, but I do wish he would be more open-minded with things like this.
@HarrisonVig6 жыл бұрын
DGCubes honestly it's not that Tony Fisher was out of line by asking for TCH to ask for permission, but instead the issue was the way Tony handled the issue.

CrazyBadCuber you should make a video of your puzzle hoaxes
@crazybadcuber7 жыл бұрын
No it's not cheating, it's a hoaxes only I and a few other people know about. One for instance is the left handed algorithms video. Where I was able to do algs with my left hand as good as my right and demonstrated some. I never revealed the hoax because a lot of people do now know to do them with either hand and it's definitely an asset to solving if you're able to do it, so motivating others to try it still did some good. So there is no malicious intent with the video. I hoaxed it because I wanted to see if I could pull it off. If you go watch the video, you'll see what I'm talking about. The video was filmed with me doing it right handed and the image was flipped. My lighting at the time was specific from different directions, so in the hoax I swapped the lighting over. I swapped stickers on the cube so it would still have proper colour scheme. It was challenging to make because every time I referred to either hand, I'd have to call my right hand left and my left hand right. It took a lot of takes.

The voiceover work on this is exceptional! And the video itself is well presented. If TF could get over his inflated ego (I know he won't- I'm just speaking in hypothetical terms here), he'd see that his content was respectfully presented and that there's no need for animus. The uploader here has content quality which actually exceeds that of the original content. TF is comfortable raking in the KZbin dough. Just look how click-baitish his material has degenerated to lately, presented in a way to only attract clicks. But when this same provider of his extra quick cash (KZbin) enforces their own PUBLISHED policies, he becomes the victim. Perhaps TF should remove all his material from KZbin since he feels so cheated, and find a new trick platform from which to present it. Until then, he'll have to deal with the way things are (while still raking in the KZbin dough).

So KZbin changed their mind and now bizarrely calls it fair use. Fair use or not, what kind of person uses multiple videos and images (including the thumbnail previously) without the decency to ask the owner if it's OK? Shame on you and shame on those that support this disrespect of other people's work. Something very important died in the puzzle community today.
@sukitsunewinters6 жыл бұрын
It greatly saddens me that a nasty selfish element continues to grow within the puzzle community. An element that has zero respect for peoples work or property. Whether it's making and selling KO puzzles or ripping off videos or siding with those that do either. People are foolishly destroying what they love the most. I will do my best not to let that happen and fight for decency. So you can throw your hate my way as much as you want as it only shows the kind of people you are and it certainly won't change me.
