Thank you so much for your methods here. I used to see lemon trees with fruit all over ground and thought how wonderful it would be to have them and of all the ways I would use them. Now We have lemon trees and they are wonderful. Praise God!

Do they all last a year? Do they need to be refrigerated and or in a dark cool place? Thank you so much I hate when my fruits go bad and I make myself eat them because I just can not throw them away and if its a whole bag of lemons, that is a lot of lemon for me. Thank you ever so much!

How long does each method preserve for? And, do i have to keep it in the fridge, or is on the counter fine?
@TheCulinarycorner4 жыл бұрын
After leaving in the counter for 3 days I put them in fridge. I have one 7 months old in fridge. Still I am using it.
@1N2themystic3 жыл бұрын
I'm quite sure that this is way too much sugar for any microbes to live in. Especially the honey. They found honey in a 4,500 year old Egyptian tomb still in edible condition. Pretty sure your lemons are going to be just fine for a year or so on your shelf.

Can you not just preserve it with honey alone? Do you have to use the sugar? Genuine question, I am thinking you could just use honey and it would work, but I could easily be wrong.
@thathappypie88723 жыл бұрын
U should be able to.. I have made this countless of times and I have used honey often.. everytime I have done honey, it works perfectly..so I would say go for it.

@Myreturnjourney3 жыл бұрын
@@vio6790 how long does it last outside the refrigerator?
@vio67903 жыл бұрын
@@Myreturnjourney Hello, you can do it with both or even salt! honey is a natural preservative, and also act like medicine and as long as the lemon remains under the honey it can last for ever!, it will change the color, flavour and probably will bubbling as a result of the fermentation but that's ok. One year and a half is the most I have preserved it but just because we eat it before. Hope it helps 😉
@trumplostlol30073 жыл бұрын
Sun dry the lemon first. Then add sugar. This is the traditional way of preserving lemon in East and Southeast Asia. You can store the lemon for much longer.
