@@susannehuber3996 To a certain point, I agree. However- Steve is actually more competent and responsible when he’s single. His most incompetent and air-headed moments were all while he was with Miranda. Steve becomes less grounded and less intelligent with Miranda bc she controls EVERYTHING and makes him feel inferior, which then causes him to lose confidence in himself and regress into an immature man-child. That’s just my opinion though. I’m sure most people probably don’t see it that way, but it’s something I have always noticed.

Steve was too much for Miranda. Although Miranda was a strong, independent, very successful & inspiring woman, when it came down to her relationships she was snob, judgemental & controlling. She always looked down at Steve for being a bar tender & she treated him like shit during all their relationship. Although they are characters that meant to have their human flaws, Steve deserved someone who appreciated him genuinely.

I love that one early episode where charlotte says that Miranda and Steve aren’t in the same class, or caste, and all the girls defend Steve by saying not so rich girls always date wealthy men, so it shouldn’t matter, and how just because he didn’t have money at the time didn’t mean he didn’t have a chance to make money and be successful 👏🏻
