Very cool video thank you. Still kills me how some people have to destroy what they find. Seems like it was a really nice house at one time. I was hoping you would have looked at some of the books downstairs. I also agree the checkered flooring was kind of cool, not my style , but still kind of cool. I wish I knew more of the history of the house but still glad you don't give its location so more idiots can destroy it further . I like your work keep up the great videos.

Judging by the widespread presence of mold, it looks like it has been abandoned for awhile. Remediation costs can be high and if you have the money to purchase a house like this, you have the money to build what you want and not have to settle.

Nhm, this brickwork suburban house looks unassuming from the front side, but it was certainly the best place to live with opulence without drawing too much attention. I have never saw checkered floor like this, representing a wind rose at the center. While it seems to be no Craigdarroch, the wall panels ornamented with neo-victorian woodwork adds a tasteful touch inside. It must have had allure back then. I would have been infinitely grateful if someone donated me this Rosewood bookshelf at 3:41 It's of exquisite taste, even though the glass work is a drab touch which would need fiery crimson and leaf green pieces to entice look more... I don't think the former owner of this place was a pro tennis man. A self respecting one wouldn't install Basketball hoops on his court. I guess he used to be an amateur sportsman with a fondness for both of these. It's a shame this place is going to be torn down. I do wonder what happened though. I am intrigued by these police lines in the area at 9:27
@vlrissolo8 жыл бұрын
this doesn't look abandon. seems they packed up and left. it looks like a builder bought the property. I'm sure the previous owner got a pretty penny! the floors alone are worth thousands. my guess is they will sell everything they can before destruction. the doors, tubs, sinks trim, often even the brick, on and on. there are companies who pay to go into homes that are ready to be demolished and strip it down for a fraction of what they can sell it for, but they are skilled in removal, unlike the contractor who will build on the property....hope that made sense..
@clairefunnell84814 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the tour. I'm not sure about this one. Not sure I liked it. Is this natural decay or did the vandals hit it? Good sized property though. Condos, poo!
@louisaloi91787 жыл бұрын
I get it,that & neighboring house sold for redevelopment.However what I don't get is that salvage co.DIDN'T get to strip out high end stuff OUT of the house after previous owners moved out what they wanted.Plenty of modern,useful things left to be repurposed elsewhere @ least it's that way in Ohio.Hard to believe it would be any different in Canada???

I've really have gotten into watch these video's. What I don't understand is why all the good woodwork, doors, etc. are removed to have it sold!!??
@kidistight8 жыл бұрын
I think I understand what you are saying, however think of it as developer. Do you want to try and fence all that stuff or just destroy the house and put up your condos. Besides how much could a developer really get versus the time involved in it.
@nikkifix77688 жыл бұрын
If a bank cant sell a house or building, it will try to recoup some of the loss by having salvage companies bid money. The highest bid usually wins. The salvage company will go in and remove cabinets.....granite countertops....appliances....fire place mantels....ornate wood carvings, light fixtures.....fancy doors....usable tubs, sinks, toilets that the salvage co. will reuse in other properties. Some companies will sell the items and others will personally use them on differ jobs their working on. Plus usable stuff out side like fencing, statues..etc. Once the house is bull dozed and the land is cleared then the banks able to sell the plot of land. My house is full of beautiful things(out of my class range) becuz my bro-in-law has a salvage co. and let me and hubby have whatever we want as long as we did the work to remove it. We added $65,000.00 in architectural value to our home. Salvage yards are great and you can get amazing deals if you look. U might have to restore/refinish the items yourself ....but it will be to ur liking tho.
