I was actually curious if this was a common dish in Malaysia. Or did this restaurant invent it?

@@PlanetDoug the dishes are common in Malaysia and Singapore. But I've never seen tea with so much foam.….very interesting. I shall pay Coconut Bay a visit on my next trip to Port Dickson. Cheers!

I figured since I had the Olympus back from the shop, I might as well use it a bit. 😎 Though I could probably get the same basic effect with just my smartphone. Using the Olympus made me feel professional - zooming in and getting things in focus...

I could have used your expertise for this experience. I'm sure you know all about this special foamy tea and everything else about the food. I end up nothing but questions. 😀

Thank you for mentioning the "Devil's Tower" from Close Encounters. The tea immediately reminded me of it and I am glad that I am not alone in the reference. That is also oneof my favorite movies growing up. My father took me to it and I was completely enamored by the film at the time and even to this day. Regardless of the reference, the meal and the tea looked wonderful.

I couldn't think of the name at the time: Devil's Tower. There's actually a name for this kind of mountain, isn't there? While shooting the video, I was trying to remember the name, but I couldn't come up with it. I think it's a tabletop mountain, right? Or a mesa? Close Encounters is one of my favorite movies, as well. I can't remember the first time I watched it, but it always hooks me.

The extra dumping are of a diffrent type.. its much bigger and made from slightly diffrent components … most Chinese eateries does not serve beef..so its not beef… 😀 the dumplings that comes with the noodles are called wan ton, then the other one is called sui kau.

What a beautifully located kopitam. Sitting under a tree is so enjoyable. Getting harder to find such gems in Malaysia as concrete and bitumen become the norm even in small towns CC On AI I cannot stand videos with synthesised voices not to mention AI

You may want to suggest the owner to rename it to Devil's Tower Teh .. hahaha. Cc Wantan Mee from a Chinese run food stall is almost always with minced pork.

Mixed with honey maybe
@PlanetDoug2 ай бұрын
That could be it. I was thinking that they must add something to the tea to make the bubbles like this. Honey might do it, kind of like making soap bubbles, but with honey.
