Oh yeah Mient's Burger, yes I featured them in my PD food video before as well as I dropped by for supper. Btw, great to see two cyclists having a passionate chat.

I wouldn't mind going back to Mient's and trying out one of their other burgers. Of course, the local winner for me is the one you know about: the big, big burger at Wheels. That's the one to try in Port Dickson right now. But it comes in at double or triple the price.... 🙂

I do enjoy the recent jumping back and forth between Port Dickson and Vietnam. Gives the channel a more jet set feeling even though we know exactly what’s going on. So cool to meet another bicyclist. Listening to your common language was just as enjoyable without the camera being up in your faces. Just genuine real life conversation.

When I set out that morning, I wasn't really focused on shooting video. It was more of just a test of the GoPro mounting system I was working on. So I wasn't prepared to really dive in and take video of this Belgian cyclist I met. I just happened to have the GoPro running while we were standing there and chatting about our bikes and bike gear. I could easily have set up the camera deliberately and talked to him for a couple hours about his bike and his trip so far. But the mood wasn't in the air to do that. But I'm glad to have recorded some of our chat. :)

Great vlog keep it up. You are a very good storyteller. Reminds me of my English teacher in junior school.

Your story about the 'missing' food stalls reminds me of two weeks is spent somewhere near Melacca. It was while I was still working. Our team arrived late afternoon and found numerous restaurants (mamak shops) for dinner. For the next two weeks though they seemed to be open for business on a somewhat random schedule. I did not eat well on that trip.

I've run into that issue in so many places. You could probably call it one of my pet peeves. I discover some great little place to eat, but then every time I go back, it's closed. And I can never figure out what their opening hours/days are. But I guess that's also part of the charm and appeal of certain countries. I enjoy the chaos and confusion for the most part. But sometimes... 😁

It's definitely one of my current favorites. It's tasty, simple, budget-friendly, and filling. And I like the ease of ordering at this place in the parking lot.

Try bread.. thick slice with cendol , quite nice.. 😊 p.s. now you can get suspension seatpost.. find brand like zoom for mtb! they are not that expensive too.

I really should have gotten a suspension seatpost long ago, to be honest. They've been around forever and I've thought about getting one. I just never pulled the trigger. I'll add that to my wish list and to-do list for the future if I end up doing a lot more cycling.

I thought the same thing. Recently introduced myself to these dishes in Penang. Very different to mainland food with delicious flavour and texture. Definitely worth trying

I agree on the comment regarding Brooks seats. Worst purchase I've ever made. Screwed up my back

Maybe you could carry an extra seat on your bike, change it every every hour or two?
@PlanetDoug
@PlanetDoug 7 күн бұрын
You mean a different style of seat just to change the feeling and pressure points? I'd never thought of that. It would likely be too much trouble to actually carry a second seat and change them. But it might actually make a difference. I could compromise, perhaps, and use a gel cover. I could ride without the gel cover for a while. And once I get sore, put the cover on and see if that makes a difference. And switch back and forth.

@@PlanetDoug I do this with shoes when I'm logging the miles. Yes, changing the gel is a great idea or putting on padded shorts . When I made that suggestion I realized an extra seat might be too heavy, but if you had a quick release on the seat, it could work with a bungee the extra seat to the bike rack or in a back pack

Cycling shorts essential if you don't want to suffer. More important than the saddle.

I've never tried cycling shorts, to be honest. I certainly don't want to wear skintight Lycra cycling gear. But there are probably cycling shorts that look like normal clothing. I should probably give the a try someday.

He is probably being considerate to his landlord, as maybe they do not want the bike clogging up their walkway or visible in their driveway. If the bike could be seen from the road, it could attract theft.
