In contract law, if you conceal or neglect to inform the other party of a significant fact that could affect their decision to agree, it's the same as active deception and the contract can be nullified. So the concept has existed for a long time, just not applied as openly to sexual relationships.

@Lwandile M rather delete your comment. 1stly "coloured" is a culture & Trevor does not identify with that culture. He is mixed raced & identifies as black. He also has right to hire whoever he feels will do a great job regardless of their race. You're so misinformed.
@sanelisiwebhengu94034 жыл бұрын
@Lwandile M I really don't understand your line of questioning. What do you mean when you say "What about black women?" Trevor's story is not about black women, it is about his black mom & that's it. The story doesn't need a black director. The only thing that would be wrong is it the story was written by a white woman. Now we already know that's not the case since the movie is based on Trevors real life. It's his personal project & not something he owes to anybody. You make valid points that aren't relevant to Trevor & his project sadly. His story isn't fictional so it doesnt matter who directs as long as the story final product is authentic.
@sanelisiwebhengu94034 жыл бұрын
@Lwandile M I don't know what industry you are in but as a writer & director myself, what I've picked up from all you have said is that you don't really understand the role of a Director in feature film or any other production.

The online discourse didn't blow up as much as I anticipated - you could really see the difference compared to something like Normal People. And why, suddenly, another story about consent - Promising Young Woman - is getting a lot of attention. There are more questions than answers, but IMDY really deserves a watch. It's an eye-opening, fresh take, that can teach us all A LOT.

If you watch and listen and really pay attention ( the part about getting off social media was brilliant by the way), you see how it all works together.
