As a college student who just got into option trading, the beginning of the video cant be more relatable. When I started trading, I made profit here and there. At one point even winning $500 profit on a single contract(that costed around 200ish when i bought it) And at that time I actually thought I was talented and had a future in this. But as time went on, End up losing money on the contracts i buy and sells consecutively. Portfolio went from +2000 something during the first 2-3 months, to now down 1.3k just half a year after i started

So now that he bought the call option and then went from the buyer which has the option and sold it doesn't that switch over to obligated now that he was the contract seller so what happens if the person decides to excersize the call option wouldn't that kid have to delever the shares? If so what would he did get his parents to pay it?

Best thing you can do is teach him to not buy options directly but spreads, mitigates risk lowers the breakeven for profit only downfall is it caps gains, but realistically thats not a bad thing.
