Symptoms or not, you halt all people wanting to come from China, quarantine at a military base/hangar/hotel - and you make sure, no testing needed. It’s the same with “cases of unknown origin” .... you’re telling me they can’t use cameras and cellphone location data and figure that out? :) If it’s in, they let it in. I'm sorry but the coronavirus is different to the other viruses you mentioned. Essentially it is a variation on the SARS virus. It is a, as far as we can tell, a much more infectious, much less deadly virus. It's the infectiousness that's the problem as well as the fact that it hits older people and people with comorbidities and underlying health conditions the hardest. Look, I understand what you are getting at but out of all of those viruses, this one is the most infectious of the bunch. It is transmissible while asymptomatic and it is capable of staying active on surfaces up to three days. The biggest problem that exists with this virus is that, around 10 percent or so of people that get it...again mostly old people...are going to need medical attention, they will need oxygen and they will need to be taken care of in a ward. We simply don't have the capacity if this thing spreads far, so the best thing to do is to slow it down, so as to not overwhelm the medical system.

These are all calls that I got today, sometimes from the two different health centers regarding the same person because they are making the rounds. And this is in an area with NO CONFIRMED CASES yet. Hi Ben, I'd like to clear something up about the Australian toilet paper video. The Asian community go to supermarkets every week and buy everything on bulk special they can carry. Sometimes with bands of 10 or more. This shows something that is an ongoing problem but really has nothing to do with the virus. Just media latching on conveniently as usual. I am yet to hear or notice any difference to normal day to day life yet. The media has a lot to answer for. I'd like to see an inquest after it all dies down. They must be held to account for pure scare tactics for ratings. It's a plague itself. Thanks. Love the content. Dom, Sydney Australia.

@@vNill I didn't say I didn't care about my life. What I said is that if it's my time it's my time meaning that if I have no control over such a thing I don't waste the time worrying about it. It's essentially the serenity prayer. Serenity Prayer: "God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

@@vNill another example of what I mean, if God doesn't do it for you, comes from Sun Pins Military Methods: If there is a criminal, a condemned man, wielding a sword, swinging it about wildly, and a group of armed guards comes to stop him, the many will not be able to take the one. This is because the many value life while the one only values death. The many will have fear because they value their lives. While the one, who is committed only to death, has no such fear.

Here in Lebanon, people are not going out as much any more. Many local businesses are shutting down. People are panicking ... but everytime I educate myself on the matter I feel hopeful that everything will be ok in the end. I just feel terrible everytime someone mentions the increasing number of those who contracted the virus ... especially here where medical assistance is poor. So if the corona virus doesnt kill you ... our hospitals will. May God protect us all. Thank you Ben for this video❤

I am a retired custodian. I learned and practiced proper sanitation and infection control for 25 years. I 63 years old and currently have an immune disorder that requires the use of immune suppressants to stay alive and other drugs to be able to live a fairly normal life and have lived with it for 7 years. I have learned a lot of common sense means of avoiding illnesses and have not gotten a cold or flu virus or any other virus for six years. I am currently working for Jackson Hewitt preparing income tax returns at a kiosk in the front of a Walmart with hundreds of people walking by, stopping to ask questions and advice, and preparing tax returns since the first of January. I am not worried. Why are you?

@@fleiteae Yep, still alive and helping my father (83) on the farm. We are planting winter wheat at the moment. Continuing education class to work for Jackson Hewitt start in December. The only thing I am worried about is that the mandated mask wearing rule will still be in place at Walmart so I am having some masks made to my specifications, that can be washed and dried and reused again and again, that will satisfy Walmart's requirements but be comfortable and easier to breath in.
