It's a childhood favorite and I read it every few years. A few months ago I realized I needed to buy a new copy to replace my old, battered one... and that I'd better do it quickly before leftists ban it and I am never able to find another copy ever again. Again, I don't think that's an unfounded fear. What country do we live in, again?! Seriously, it has become unrecognizable.

Kirk Gao I don't know, I find Ben to be pretty dang insightful. In fact I think he could be the poster child of ENTJs. ;D Definitely true about his superior grasp on the facts though. However I've noticed that there's always a strategy in the way he lays them out, which is why he's so good at "trapping" his opponents in debate. I am interested in what Ben was talking about with Orthodox Jews serving in the military. When I was in the military I knew a guy that was a practicing orthodox Jew; We were both in the Infantry (Marines) however due to the demands of that job it was basically impossible for him to maintain the orthodox practices; so he was removed from what is called a line platoon and moved into the headquarters company. It seems odd to me, as a christian, that the orthodox practices would not make some kind of exception for those practicing orthodox Judaism but also working a needed 'job' that would interfere with those practices.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you Ben, on Mark Stein. We've ceded the public square to the internet, and gave too much power to oligarchs and 'gatekeepers' in control of the basic infrastructure. We *CAN'T* build our own servers. We can't dump billions into infrastructure every time the current owners get a hair up their ass. Even Google can't afford to make a new Internet. We need some sort of protection. A CEO should not be able to wake up and say "I've had a bad morning, so fuck you, you no longer have access to the public square". As long as they have the power to impose their will on others, that power needs to be checked.

I agree with you on most of the points about the events that have been going on. For example, I totally agree with you about the bigots, leftists, and Donald Trump. But what i'm having trouble agreeing with you about is the argument of taking down confederate statues, and one in particular, which is why black people should pay for something that commemorates people who fought against their freedom. Now i'm not saying that we should build more statues of them, but for the last 50+ years that they have been around they have not caused any harm to anyone or has costed millions of dollars to maintain. Most, if not all, the statues are pretty easy to maintain. The local governments are the ones paying for the upkeep of the statues. The citizens paying taxes to their towns are okay with the statues, so I don't understand why other people from other states are worrying about the statues. Because i'm not going to New York telling the mayor and citizens of the town that they should take down that stupid statue of the girl standing in front of the bull on Wall Street. Then also, who cares if black people have to pay for the statues, there is a lot of things that I have to pay for in taxes that I necessarily don't agree with. I, nor does anyone else, get to pick and choose what they want to pay taxes for, so why are people using this idea as a reason to take down confederate statues.

Alright, smart Republicans, I need your help: I literally just got out of a dinner get-together debate/discussion about Republicans and Democrats and it was going decently well for me. I would say I was dominating for the most part because if facts I learn from Ben. Now, the woman I was debating brought up a last point of how out of the 15 least educated states, 14 of them are Republican and if the 20 most educated states, 15 are Democratic. I couldn't reply to this answer and it was quite embarrassing in front of a mainly Liberal/Democratic dinner table. How could I argue against that point.
