I think the raw untouched beauty while on the train can not be beat. Barrow however was very depressing, as far as mood elevators.I don't know how those folks cope, with the costs and prices, etc. But so glad you gave me an experience 😊

I was getting cold, thanks for heading out. Alaska has it's share of beauty in nature but I'm partial to palm trees. It's currently 81' in S. Florida. Can't wait to see Vegas.

My favorite day you shared was the ride on the dog sled. Its the closest i will ever come to experiencing that and my mom enjoyed it when i visited her at the hospital.

I spent a few days in Barrow. It was not very remarkable, but very very few people have been there. For that reason I'm so glad I went. Dipped my hand in the freezing Arctic Ocean as well.

I stayed in the flamingo 4 years ago. They put our room on the very top floor. At 3am the radio went on by itself and it was playing a old song from the 50s. The flamingo is one of the most haunted hotels in Vegas. That was so scary.

It's like Alaska is the giant forgotten state, but really glad you went there. You'll never forget it I'm sure. You should return in the summer. Maybe not to Barrow, but maybe it'll be different with 24 hours daylight in June...

You need to watch the original Sinatra Ocean 's Eleven with the Rat Pack to see vintage Vegas of the early 60's. I was there and have great memories of The Strip. My Dad won big in a poker game and returned to our rooms loaded down in real silver dollars. He was actually hunched over with the weight of the coins in every pocket. Good times.

It was very strange to see you non bundled up. I am glad you blogged the Alaska trip. I know Barrow did its best. Seeing a place with no trees. Afraid of bears, everything expensive and the constant cold. living in the Midwest in January is similar to me. Very cold and no sun for days because of the weather. Ice and snowpacked. Beginning at 22:22 when you talk about being on the same plane and show the departures/arrival boards. You got off of flight number 922 from Anchorage. The flight you're about to get on is 2949. You're using the same gate (B11), but it's a different plane. 😉

We flew from Las Vegas to Denver and our connection to Orlando was the same plane. We got off and about 20 minutes later we got back on. That was a Southwest flight. Better to just take a taxi in Las Vegas.
