My mother got to go on opening night of Disneyland. My grandmother took her when she was 15 years old. My mom told me it was so crowded and so hot that it was hard to enjoy it at first, but she still loved it. My grandmother and mother also got to meet Walt Disney while he was there. 66 years goes by so fast.

Adam, 33 years ago this week is when I went to Disneyland the first time with my family. My parents are dead now and my sister and I remember this trip so well, and it’s before Disney really took off in terms of media presence. I’ll always love this park, never been to the Florida park… But this one is my home park.

Those of us born in 1955 were the first generation to live their lives with Disneyland and all of Disney magic. I grew up with the original Mickey Ears, the original Mickey Mouse Club, the Disney movies and so on. My first visit to Disneyland was in 1965 and my first ride was the Matterhorn!. Happy Birthday Disneyland!!!! Thanks for this super fun video and fun to see Spencer and Katie, Pixar Charlie, Dylan and the rest of the crew. This keeps me feeling young!

my Daddy was a welder/pipe fitter. He worked on the Matterhorn, the Snow White ride, and the Under Sea ride. He brought home a big conch shell. He met Walt Disney!

What a special occasion my mother was actually there on opening day as a young girl later when I came along we would go to Disney land at least once a yr and I would get so excited I would be like pinch me daddy am I really here. Now I live in central Florida and have taken my children which are grown now to Disney world many of times I just love it and feel like I’m a kid when I’m there

I was able to mobile order the birthday cupcake and if it's any consolation, while it was very photogenic, it was really dry and fairly bland (like most of their cupcakes...haha)
