I will not be Island hopping this trip as this is all about time with my mom. I’ll be back each year from now on or at least on semi regular basis to dive a little deeper into everything Hawaii and hot the other islands . I’m excited about the future and glad to be a dvc member to come here the rest of my life

enjoy your time with your mom, I lived on Oahu Hawaii as a kid, my dad was stationed there in the NAVY I learned to do a polynesian dance with bamboo poles in Elementary school lol and I am excited to see what you share with us on Oahu, maybe you will see the military memorial, I have a friend in ministry who lives on Oahu, I think she's away visiting family right now in the states

I shared the same blessing of being able to take my Mom to, as she pronounced it, “Hi-wa-ya”, before her passing. What a memory like no other. It is beautiful beyond words. Safe travels and thank you for allowing us to come along!

Thank you for taking you Mom on this trip. I lost my Mom just over a year ago and never took the time to take her to Hawaii. She had always wanted to go and I failed her. Enjoy every second and give her anything and everything she wants.

La Mariana on sand island road....the only tiki bar left on oahu....its a must see (especially at night) food is good too...

Aulani opened in 2011 so is now almost 13 years old but aging well. Look for the menehunes in the elevators and elsewhere! Nice touch-Mickey wearing a kukui nut lei!

I watched Aulani being built and saw it opening year in 2011. I've never stayed but you can access the property and all the beaches in Ko'olina are still public to my knowledge. I lived on O'ahu for 4 years during undergrad, and I would encourage you to explore the island on future visits. Nothing better in my opinion than the East shore and Windward side.

Waimanalo on the east side is my favorite beach, driving the H3 is gorgeous, Waimea falls on the north shore, the view from the top of Diamond Head, Waimea bay, and Waikiki beach are all spectacular. Love Oahu!

Aloha!😁 I'm so happy you're staying at Aulani and finally visiting Hawaii!🌴🌞 $25 for unlimited hot or cold beverages throughout your stay is an absolute steal that you won't find at any other Hawaii resort. I love that you and your mom got a room with a kitchen. My first stay at Aulani was in standard rooms and let's just say, dining on property for a group of 11 got insanely expensive lol🤣

I’m taking my mom to Hawaii in November and I’ll be at the Marriott that’s down the road from Aulani. Went to Aulani last year and it is lovely, but a bit pricey. Wish we could have been there at the same time to get to cross paths with you. 😊

Waikiki, the PCC, Pearl Harbor, Waimea Bay, Sea Life Park, North Shore! So much to do so much to see in so little time! I hope you enjoy paradise. Remember to take a breath and stop to smell the hibiscus every now and again. What you are able to do especially with your mom is special and i hope you are able to take it all in without the time sliding by too fast. Core memories unlock! Oh and the term for the pool is Infiniti pool.

I remember when it was first being built when I lived there. Now that it’s there, that private beach is no longer what it used to be . It was one lagoon I took my kids to when they were little. Just the locals , now it’s all tourists. Across the way that hotel behind you, Blue Crush was filmed there. Aloha , and joy your stay Adam!

Sharks Cove and Lanikai Beach are very scenic and a must do in Oahu! Leonard's Malasadas are a must have snack! Ala Moana Mall has a huge food court and is one of the largest malls in the world!

My mum and I were in Hawaii 5 years ago to do a cruise around the islands I try when ever I travel to get a kitchen of some sort because you can save so much money than eating out every day especially if you have been out all day. ABC stores can come in handy for snacks and light meals

I lived in hawaii for 10 years driving tourists from the airport to Aulani and other hotels. I had been through the lobby, but never got to see what the rooms were like. I'm glad you got a good view overlooking the ocean and swimming area.

I spent 5 days in the pools, it's the best! 😂 Morning til night with a break to go across the street to eat at the many options. Swimming in that lighting an ambience was so relaxing. The Teriyaki chicken from the ABC (Country Market) was my favorite meal.. I could have eaten it daily! Yum!

If you go down to the beach area there is a walkway that goes to the right pass the four seasons. There is a path that goes to the sand and a secrect beach where you can see monk seals in the afternoon. I go to Aulani every year as a DVC member. Its great!!

This is so awesome Adam! We literally just got home from a week in Hawaii (last vacation alone for a while as we're having a baby!!) and it was an absolute blast. So glad you and your mom are doing this; my wife and I will be living vicariously through your Aulani experience! 😀 The Kualoa Movie Ranch outside of Honolulu is a great experience - lots of great filming locations from Lost, Jurassic Park, Godzilla movies etc.
