i check it is a lightsaber from 2005 so it is an working jedi lightsaber from the episode 3 lightsaber line because for Christmas i got that lightsaber in 2005

Can confirm that this was just "Jedi Lightsaber" released around AOTC. I used this for kitbashing back then. They used the same mold as Qui-Gon's (hence the 1999 date) with the hilt colors reversed. There was one with an orange blade and the green one you have. The box art you found with the painted ribbing is a prototype paint job that didn't make it to market.

My guess is that it's from when attack of the clones came out. They made a bunch of random lightsaber with different paint jobs and different blades. A lot of the time they don't change they date stamped wen they use old molds. I have a Luke Skywalker lightsaber that I bought in the mid 2000s and it says 1996 on it

+Ben Lawrence the only thing keeping me from thinking its those is the coloring on the ribs on the hilt. If it weren't for that, I'd be sure it was one of the aotc generic Jedi lightsabers

I was working at Rite Aid when Phantom Menace came out,they had a HUGE Phantom promotion and tons of merch. I had that exact light saber from that time but I can't even begin to remember what box it came in,etc

It could be one of a batch of factory errors or a test model for the generic attack of the clones jedi lightsaber which accidentally got into circulation

My Vader saber lights up the same and makes the same sounds, that saber is older than mine though... My friend broke the saber so it only retracts all the way and extends which is still alright I guess

I know I'm late to the party, let me share some info on the 1999 stamp on the saber. Like most plastic toys they are most likely molded, and when a toy company wants to rerelease the toy in the future, they simply find and reuse the original mold. Hence the reason for the 1999 stamp. Hasbro most likely still had the original mold for the Qui-Gon saber from Phantom Menace and decided to reuse it for the Attack of the Clones jedi saber.

I’m a really big Star Wars fan and I noticed that no one in the movie has that lightsaber and I looked it up and it is actually called a type 10 lightsaber no one really wields that lightsaber (but you) like if you knew that 👍🏻

I had this exact saber, it is in fact labeled as a Qui Gon Jin light saber. I only remember the packaging, opening it, and my cousin snapping it after I swung it near him. I had the Darth Maul one too, got them at the same time, different packages.

this is the generic Jedi lightsaber but it's NOT from the attack of the clones line, its from the Revenge of the Sith/saga lines from 2005 & 2006. It used the 99 Qui-Gon saber mould, but you can tell the year it was produced by the sound font as this has motion activated swing sounds, an idea that was only introduced into electronic lightsabers when additional electronic features were introduced such as vibrations in the obi-wan saber and a colour-changing blade in the anakin saber, hope this helps.

Here's what I'm thinking, the qui gon jinn Lightsaber hilt design was featured in attack of the clones and was used by Jedi younglings and the actual props used were left over phantom menace toys. The toy you have is a generic Jedi Lightsaber toy from attack of the clones. They made this toy because of the Jedi arena battle in aotc but hasbro didn't know how the Jedi Lightsaber used in that scene looked so they remolded and repainted qui gon's toy Lightsaber originally created for phantom menace

It’s a model of Kit Fisto’s lightsaber, and at this time of 1999 there were indeed books and comics with kit fisto in them, and cannon in the books qui gon And Kit we’re very good friends, and there was quite a heart warming scene when they were younglings Kit needed help with his lightsaber. So qui gon set his down for Kit to use as a guide, so it makes perfect sense that Kit’s lightsaber looked like qui gons, and the Jedi lightsabers had more holes on the back so it can’t be one of those. I spent a long time researching this so if you read this please get back to me.

That might be released during attack of the clones because phantom menace sabers were like a grayish color than silver but attack of the clones had the grayish color to look more silver

When they started making lightsabers the toy ones a lot of the lightsabers Hedges generic handles so it wasn't like it wasn't like you were using a specific characters you could have like your own lightsaber like I used to have one that was like Obi-Wan Kenobi's first lightsaber but it was literally like I had a blue one I had a green one I had a red one I had a purple one and then I had like three that had like the same handle so that could just that's just a generic lightsaber Jedi lightsaber like they make a lot of those so yeah I hope that helps

Okay! I have two of these. One is green, and one is red. I found a red one years ago, and had no idea what I was, but I gave it to my Star Wars crazing friend for his birthday. A couple of weeks ago, I found both the green and red ones, did some digging, and apparently the green on is just generic "Jedi Master Lightsaber" so I just assumed the red one was Sith Lord or something like that. I've seen an orange one before too online. That's about as much as I can give though.

Actually the one from the build your own lightsaber is modeled after qui gons but it isnt accurate. The colir scheme for the other qui gon lightsaber is correct. The real lightsabers red button is where it is on the one you got from the thrift store. The ring that allows you to put it on a belt is where the button is for the build your own. I have this same lightsaber toy. I have had it since I was like 4 or 5. I took mine apart to replace the speaker and the circuit board has a date of 2004 printed on it. So the lightsaber shell/mold or probably based on an older variant that Hasbro reused.

It's true that red versions of this are out there. I have one myself. However, I got off of ebay used, thus, it didn't come with the packaging. When I did the research myself, I coulden't find an official name, or match. I feel like I recall seeing an advertisement for the product where the hilt was the same, and the blade came in the four main colors, but I still can't recall when the ad came out.

You probably already got the answer to this, but I have to chime in anyway. What you have is a Star Wars Electronic "Jedi Lightsaber" from 2002's Saga/ATOC line. Hasbro simply reused the same old molds used in producing the Electronic "Qui-Gon jinn" Lightsaber from 1999 when manufacturing this toy.

Thoes are rare!!! From a release of the AOTC "Jedi" sabers . The battle of Geonosis sabers. Rots re released them with new packaging. Yes very few pics online! They are sold out at almost all sites. Nice find my dude. They are either cherished or trashed because they are the non specific character saber. I'm years late and at the time of writing this pretty drunk. But spent 30mins investigating. I did research on it and I think both of our lightsabers are from the attack of the clones at first I thought it wasn't but after seeing multiple pictures of the same product I realized the position the lighsabers were in were different than others and I know mine is from the series

I have this one but with the red blade (the one you showed in the photos) mine has the same 1999 Hasbro thing on it my grandfather gave it to me sometime around 2011, i don't know where it is from but maybe this will help, look at it from the front view, to the right of the red button (if you turn it) there is some additional text, mine is so beat up to tell what it says, maybe yours won't even have it but that's all i could say to help
