I'll tell you what. When ESPN dumped Mike & Mike I about PUKED 🤢. They were my FAVORITE sports talk show EVER. They deserved to exit on they're own terms. They won multiple awards and did NOT deserve to be forced out like they were. The ESPN IDIOT exec who dumped them got help for alchohol abuse, NO surprise. He probably could not handle the heat from that moronic decision 🤮 I look forward to listening to Golic Sr and Jr. Both are so talented, wonderful to listen to👍 Great guys to from everything I have read. I also lost interest in Mike Greenburg after Mike and Mike. I don't think he's been as good with his spots on ESPN 🤔

Hearing these two talk, reminds me of the talk radio I used to listen to in the mid 2000s. You’d get Mike and Mike in the morning then Mariotti and Silverman, then the Dan, Patrick show with Rob dibble, then Mac, Jurko, and Harry. ESPN1000 from 2003 to like 2008 was just pure gold.

Dan, when I retired, It took me 6 months to stop waking up in a terror I was running late for work! Then it slows down to 2-3 times a week nightmares about leaving work, but within a year your happy you left!

I don't understand why Mike Golic isn't some networks lead NFL or College game analyst. He has the down-hominess of Madden, the intelligence of Collinsworth, and relatability second to none. I felt bad about how ESPN ended the Mike and Mike show. I would have watched a new show featuring Golic, but I rarely even do a drive by on Get Up (but then, The DP Show is so much more entertaining). But its good to see Golic in such a positive place, and nothing beats being able to work with your son.

In his last few years with ESPN doing Golic and Wingo, I think the best part of the show was the first hour or so when Jr was on with him and Wingo. The chemistry he and his son have is amazing. I liked Wingo but at the time I thought they should have the show just be Golic and Jr. I definitely will listen to their show.

I listened everyday to Mike Golic when he was doing Mike and Mike to the next show he did, but when he was let go the morning shows have been awful. ESPN lost a loyal listener when Golic left, I liked hearing his viewpoint. Always seemed to say the right thing when some issues were tough to talk about.

Some years ago, in an indirect fashion, I had the opportunity to learn about the two Mike personalities apart from their media personas.. Greenberg was just like you see him now, intelligent, quick, but very insecure and very neurotic. Golic on the other hand was also very intelligent, but down to earth, full of common sense, and a person with a fantastic view on life and a strong secure and laudable personal ethos. a solid traditional midwestern character that I am sure was at odds with the woke ethos at ESPN. That he does an interview like this years later only confirms what I indirectly saw years ago. Golic is still that solid person.

I used to love watching Mike & Mike in the morning before school. Mostly because of Golics friendliness and Greenbergs neuroticism lol. They made a good pair. Sad how it ended but Golics always been a great guy in my opinion. And he was brutally honest with his assessment of QBs and other players. Watching that movie Reggie White used to do when he would literally throw 300+ pound lineman 3 feet from where they were was insane. He was so good at both D tackle and End. I definitely think he's underrated especially in today's age when none of these young kids even know who he is. Far better player than most realize.
