The solution is simple: You make a rule saying if fans storm the court before 20 seconds after the game has ended the home team's victory will be changed to a loss. The shot clock operator can even put 20 seconds on the clock after the final buzzer so fans know when it's appropriate to rush the court & that gives the losing team time to exit the court PS: one or two people running on the court Dan isn't storming the court

When its obviously going to be a "rushing the court" scenario (big home team win), within 3 to 4 minutes of game clock, have the winning head coach come on mic (during a timeout) and instruct fans "do not rush the court, for yours and others' safety"...heck, have the star player of home team do same...and increased security form around entire court...I think that largely takes care of it...but the school has to take the situation seriously (those two suggestions), too...sure, there will be a few knuckleheads disregarding those messages, but I believe doing those two things keeps it under control.

With the technology available today there should be a way to have mandatory issuing of electronic wristbands requiring identification for all in attendance. They have to wear it to get in and out of their section. Put an electronic boundary around the court. If a wristband is detected crossing the boundary it notifies the system with the person(s) name and they are issued a $1000 fine. Make it usb and load the wristband with free music to download and maybe discounts on food. Somebody smarter than me can come up with something like this.
