From what I understand, and this might be way too late. Melusine killed Oberon at the end? Castoria blew through his saint graph, but he was still alive and his Noble Phantasm was still going to swallow Chaldea along with the Storm Border but Melusine arrived like a G and blew through his Noble Phantasm with her own, thus fucking him up right at the end. Melusine was a beast throughout it all, bitchslapped Muramasa at the beginning, no-diffed Koyan even killing one of her tails in one strike, ensuring her downfall in the next arc basically. No-diffed enhanced Lvl 100 Mash. She tied in a fight with Muramasa Alter Ego boosted with divinities along with Caster Cu with Odin? She then proceeded to no-diff her mother Aurora who was one of the masterminds behind Morgan's downfall. Then rampaged through half of Britain and then only being stopped by her brother's self-sacrifice which didn't even hurt her much, only broke her emotionally. Then at the end took the last shot that ended Oberon and the Insect of Abyss. Melusine went almost undefeated.

Her attack did not even fatally wound the Insect of the Abyss and did not even reach Oberon at all. The reason why he went down is because he (tthe Insect's mind) was defeated by Castoria and an empowered Mash. He even says (if he is tellung the truh there) the Insect of the Abyss can't be stopped unless he is. The narrative says with Oberon down, the Insect of the Abyss just falls, never to reach anywhere. It never says that it was killed by Albion's remnant. Oberon doesn't even "die", he is fatally wounded and just kept falling into his own abyss. On most circunstances, ANYONE who falls into the Insect of the Abyss (stated to be worse than a black hole) is doomed, no matter how powerful they are, which is why the Foreign God fears him, and also fears Morgan and Cernunnos; Faerie Britain housed three beings that posed a threat to them. That is why they sent Muramasa in the first place, mainly to deal with Morgan. The reason why Oberon "fears" Melusine is because she (safe to assume Albion too) appears to be the only one who can escape him even after being devoured. She managed to open a a hole from the outside (we don't know from the inside though, but most likely a yes), not to mention she most likely would not fall into him with her absurd speed in the first place. Basically, Oberon is like "the Insect of the Abyss can vore everything... except her."

@@TrainHardnett except literally everything he says is a lie. it is so natural for him to lie that we have no way of knowing when he's telling the truth. that's the most interesting part of oberon - because it is in his nature to lie and deceive, even he isn't sure how he feels anymore. if "everything about him is a lie," then even that sentence is a lie. he is a walking ball of contradiction. all we know is that blanca saw through him with her fairy eyes and decided to remain loyal to him and die of curses anyway. i think it's very likely Oberon is fed up with his identity as Pretender because it forces him to act in extremes and hide his own desires and feelings from everyone, effectively isolating him for eternity. especially since his Titania, the character written to be his other half, is fictional and may never exist.
