Try using sandpaper on the bamboo. Make the surface less slippery, so the geckos can move around on it easier
@LucasSouza-nl3cy10 ай бұрын
I noticed too that the geckos are slipping
@Tropical_Tutorials10 ай бұрын
Geckos should usually be able to climb bamboo without any issues and these ones come from bamboo forests. However, if they’ve been kept too dry for some time (which might have been the case in the transportation boxes and/or in their previous home), their ability to climb smooth surfaces gets worse, which is probably why they’re slipping in the video. They typically regain it fairly quickly, like within a few days, after being put in a vivarium with a proper moisture level, so sanding the bamboo shouldn’t be necessary

You need a good breeze for a few reasons. 1) The plants will grow stronger with some minor movement in their stalks. 2) It will help with the fog issue. 3) It can help your animals and plants regulate their temperatures better.
@trish90069 ай бұрын
PC fans work great for this and you can rig them up on timers to come on for a few minutes throughout the day. Thats what i use for extra air movement on top of my planted tank :3

I also have phelsuma klemmeri and i love them. My female laid eggs that recently hatched. Normally they can live in a group with their parents, but the mom was agressive so i made them a new terrarium. They seem to like it and can't stop exploring. It's fun to see a video about phelsuma klemmeri on youtube, because they don't get uploaded very often.

I've never made the comment, but you're the reason I make my own spray foam backgrounds, Petko. And this one turned out awesome. I wasn't confident in what I was doing, so I started off using a plastic bin to make removable backgrounds- but my most recent one is currently degassing in an enclosure for a crested gecko (it looks like a big piece of a tree trunk with a place for planting something at the top). So thank you for actually discussing how you do things 🤙

Those enclosures looks like nice builds, good job

Awww those Geckos are too cute 😍 . The waltz music and editing 3/4 of the way through this video was genius 😂.
@LadyAlriandi10 ай бұрын
It doesn't really look like fog, more condensation on the glass, has the temperature in the room changed at all? it might also be cause there is more humidity in the Junglearium making the temperature different inside the enclosure vs the room outside making condensation on the glass. I get the same thing on my windows during winter where its warmer in my house vs the cold winter outside

I’m thinking you need to make some grooves into the bamboo so it will be easier for them to maneuver? Kinda like a real tree bark.
@MGk-Farmer10 ай бұрын
You should put bamboo in the jungleariam. I really love how it came out looking. And they seem to love to hide in them and use them allot.

These new additions to The Dark Den are so interesting to watch, I’ve never seen one before in the states, to my knowledge. However they give a nice balance being active and friendly in contrast to your tarantulas who don’t want to be bothered all that much. Congratulations!! 🎉🎊

OMG how cute are those lizards? They are adorable and the female removing her own stuck shed is such a great thing to watch! I could sit and watch them all day, I would get some but I have two adult Lovebirds that now have two little babies ( I know that isn’t the correct terminology) but they are so cute! I will be training them soon which my family think is a mistake as I will fall in love with them, it is a bit late as I have already, they grow so quickly! If I announced that I was getting lizards my male offspring’s and hubby would not be happy! ❤

Will it work with the mourning geckos? I keep my mourning geckos in a regular terrarium and they're quiet harsh to each other vocalizing much and keeping micro territories. So I wonder if there's conflict potential with day geckos or if the different active times will help. It's gonna be interesting to see since I'm also keeping Phelsuma and Lygodactylus species
