Looks amazing. Im so jealous of your skill and artistic accumen, but terrified of how you use a drill! I can just see it going wrong!
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks - it's gone wrong several times previously, luckily it's only a low power drill ;)

When we going to see the full size bot ? looks cool , don't know if this is going to be a kit so others could build ... maybe an idea to build up a stock of dif add ons? ? so if you were going to offer this up as a kit folk could customise their own take ? Decals too ?? ... question was there any problems when using that resin ie temp in the moulds?? ... look forward to the fin custom .
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Might be a month or so I think. Yeah you're the second person to ask about a kit. I hadn't planned to do a kit, but I guess I could given the way I've moulded it. Will see what I can do.

Love the different methods and use of materials giving this structure and posability. Watched part 1 just before this and its alot of work. Looks very cool where did you find the base? Look forward to seeing morr
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Cheers dude - the base is actually a ceiling light with some mesh in it that I got from B&Q. Haven't found time to detail that part of the build yet.
@TIMBEAU19624 жыл бұрын
Sorry anther question! Is it only one time you do the resin in the hollow parts to get a good thickness? Hope I make myself clear. Thank you!
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I did two pours on each of the pieces. It's not always necessary, but you just need to build up the thickness.

Again a masterpiece my dear master.... Question, you use vaseline to keep the silicon mold to attache to each other! But I don't see you use the vaseline on the parts?! Do silicon no stick on those parts? Thank you for sharing, a deep bow to the master.
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Thanks - silicon will only stick to silicon, so you need to use a barrier like vaseline to stop the silicon sticking to itself, but it won't stick to anything else.

Amazing build, as always! Love the problem solving. Question: how do you identify your molds? In this video alone you made what, 10 plus molds? If you had to revisit this a couple of months later, how do you tell the shin from the forearm, for example? Nothing I write on my molds tend to stay there, for fairly obvious reasons :)
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris. Hah, yeah good point - I have put all the moulds for this piece in a box, so I at least know which project they're for, but I just kinda guess! I have loads of other moulds from previous projects and I suspect I've forgotten what half of them are. It does mean I occasionally get a nice surprise when I realise I have a mould of the perfect piece for a project though ;)

Will you selling this as a kit or is it just a one off?
@thedarkpower4 жыл бұрын
Well I hadn't intended to do that, but given the way it's built I guess I could.

Yes, I would definately consider buying a kit of this android, if you're going to produce one for sale. What I love most about it is that while it is exquisite in form, there is major room for detailing. With some metal bits, kitbashed parts, and maybe some 3D printed items the end user could make quite a few of these with a wide variety of results. 🤔 Since I am watching this a year later I shall have to check your website to see if you followed through and are offering this in kit form. Outstanding work so far, off to Part 3...😲
@thedarkpower3 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks very much. I have the original moulds and so am happy to run off some copies, although unfortunately the mould for the hands has worn out. I've not openly advertised it as it's not really a kit and as you say the end user would have to do a fair amount of work to create a complete piece. Happy to run off casts if people are happy with that though :)
