I was just headed to the comments to request you do Rondo of Nightmare. You are pretty knowledgeable of music theory so you probably know that a Rondo will showcase each band member (named the Kami band) with a solo, then there is a beautiful solo performance from Su Metal. Try to get the intro @Budokan Black Night Japan live (Rondo of Nightmare) to the same concert you watched the finale of (Road to Resistance) and is also the same concert in this video.

The bass player, BOH, is a literal monster on the bass. I'd recommend the song Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischiefs of God intro. The intro is a Kami Band solo fest where every member gets a time to shine, and I think you'd appreciate BOH's solo.

Really happy you said that it takes time to learn 😁 Su was only 16 in this performance so she has had plenty of time to learn . She will soon be 24 in December . Her vocals have only improved with time and her stage presence is incredible. Su also did another version of this song on her 16th Birthday called "unfinished Akatsuki " just Su, a piano and a spotlight at Legend 1997 show . ❤🤘🦊🤘

Su very rarely has to go to the low end vocally, but her vocal power easily cuts through the metal/rock music. There are so many songs to get through with the girls and plenty of chances to see the kami band show their wares as well. To see what the centre disk does , may I suggest "rondo of nightmare" with "mischief of the gods" intro. This is from the same show. Have fun Dave. See you soon. 🦊🦊🔥🦊🦊

When Su goes low they really need to lift her in the mix. Low tones don't cut . . period. A good drummer takes the dynamic up as they go down the toms for this reason. . . Su has such a huge twang in her upper register. She is 16 years old here. She is now in her 20's and her lows have matured, but I blame the mix here. . good observation. Love your reviews. keep em coming . .Kitsunes up! 🤘🦊🤘

This is one of 4 Su-Metal solo songs. The other 3 are:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Gods" (Budokan Black Night). Su-Metal have a powerful voice to penetrate the heavy musical instrument and still sound so clear. You should listen to X Japan "Kurenai", a legendary band from Japan 🇯🇵 which Babymetal get a lot of their inspiration from. There is a slow version of Akatsuki, the Unfinished version perform at Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert same venue as Headbanger. Benitsuki -Akatsuki Information:- Kanji Title: 紅月-アカツキ. Romanji Title: Benitsuki -Akatsuki English Title : Crimson Moon -Dawn. Akatsuki-Benitsuki: Akatsuki- is the couping song from BABYMETAL's 3rd single Megitsune, by SU-METAL. The song is also included in BABYMETAL's first original album BABYMETAL. Information: Artist: BABYMETAL Single: Megitsune Album: BABYMETAL Lyrics: NAKAMETAL & TSUBOMETAL Composition: TSUBOMETAL Arrangement: Kyoto KamiBand:- The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL. Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Twinkle Pink). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP ARROW 7 CUSTOM). •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature). Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. LYRICS OVERVIEW:- Crimson Moon Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Shining in the depths of the eyes, the moon is about to cry. Red tears overflow and dye the night sky. In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. In the passage of time, I keep my eyes shut. Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks, I still feel we are tied. In the silence, I hold the damaged blade face to face. My loneliness and my uneasiness, I slash, even my heart, now. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears someday... Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! what I like about babymetal is that they don't try to impose themselves through sexuality, as many female performers do. This fact itself proves that they themselves are very charming, and very professional, and do their job well. They don't have to "sell" their sexuality to please someone. Their outfits are always luxurious but always modest and closed.

Great reaction and analysis again. I think I only saw one comment saying anything about the Budokan - the venue for this show. It is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics, but ever since the Beatles became to first band to use it as a concert venue in 1966 it has become the place Japanese artists aspire to play - not so many actually get there. Think of it as a Japanese equivalent of the Carnegie Hall or Madison Square Garden perhaps. Being a martial arts arena it is indeed "in the round" and the audience is not deep in the sense of rows of seats etc but they are on many levels, most of them looking down on the stage from above. As I said, it is the venue people aspire to play - BABYMETAL became the youngest average age female band ever to headline there (Su was not long past her 16th birthday, Yui and Moa were still only 14) and they sold it out 2 nights running ... and those shows also marked the release of their first album. At the start of 2021 BABYMETAL were back at the Budokan again - this time they played 10 shows as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. I will add my voice to those saying to watch the performance of 'Rondo of Nightmare' with the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro from the Kami Band from the same show for your next reaction. It is another of Su-metal's solo songs (she did three that night). Yui and Moa (as a duo known as 'Black BABYMETAL') also performed two songs ('4 No Uta' for which they have full writing credits for lyrics and music - not for the arrangement) and 'Onedari Daisakusen'. Those gave Su her chance for a break.

Great reaction, thanks! I don't take it as criticism :) She was just 16 at the time and she was already an incredibly experienced vocalist. But, obviously, still not grown up. She's 23 to 24 right now and she can make you cry easily. For some reason, this is still my favorite performance of my favorite song. And it's probably because of her young vocals. Instrumentally this is all I like about power metal (actually, you have already break it down). But yes, I'm a sucker for the guitar solos (both dueling and harmonizing) and the double kick drumming. Until next time!

Keep in mind that the studio version of Akatsuki was recorded when Su was only 15, and she had just turned 17 when this live performance was shot. While I agree with you about the “thin” voice, it is amazing what she could do at such a young age. Her control is absolutely amazing. She is 23 now, and her voice has matured tremendously. She has also developed some very interesting vocal techniques, which are on full display on recent songs like “Shanti Shanti Shanti” and most notably on “BxMxC”.

Great reaction and review. Su was great as a teenager, but has improved vastly and has much better access to her lower register now that she's in her 20s. There's a reactors resource channel in which you can find newer material to react to, because AMUSE makes it very difficult to have their best shows/material on YT. Next, you can go with Rondo of Nightmare from this show, make sure to include the "Mischief of the Metal Gods" intro, which showcases the Kami band. You can also react to Megitsune or Headbanger if you want to see more crowd participation. With BM live is always better, and the best versions are on the resource channel.

Black Night was the second night of the Budokan concerts in March 2014, so Su was 16. Her voice has developed over that last 7 years and is a lot fuller. The staging was complex with a rotating stage, a stage lift in the center and multiple sets of stairs. It was so complicated that both Yui and Moa had falls. Su sings "Rondo of Nightmare" from that stage lift. There is a quieter "unfinished" version with just piano instrumentation that Su sang between Headbanger and Babymetal Death in Legend 1997 and now that Su is a little older I wish she'd revisit it. Here Akatsuki is translated as "Crimson Moon". It's a Su solo and has been out of the setlist for a while now that BM is just Su-metal and Moametal, but they brought it back in the current set of concerts at Budokan Doomsday. I'm really glad they did because the shows are better with Su solos and Akatsuki is one of my favourites. It's a hymn to undying love (or at least keeping it's memory alive) and uses the symbolism of the "red thread" to connect lovers; there's lots of red imagery in the lyrics of this song, but I'm not sure that the "Miss Havisham" never ending love aspect of the message is one to be emulated. There is also a Japanese anime called "Akatsuki" where the protagonists wear capes and I think that Su's cape might be a nod to that, or it might just be a dramatic prop.

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 "Going over thousands (of) nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!" - Akatsuki Although "akatsuki" can mean daybreak or dawn, the song title 'Akatsuki' combines the characters for red (aka) and moon (tsuki). On the track listing they have replaced the character for "aka" with "kurenai" (often translated as a deep red or crimson), as a tribute to the X-Japan song 'Kurenai'. Good catch on the ESP V guitar that Leda Cygnus is playing. Takayoshi Ohmura was playing his signature ESP Snapper Ohmura custom, in twinkle pink. The guitar's nickname is "pink-chan". I'd characterize Su's voice as youthful at this point in her career. What's surprising is to hear this much power in such a young voice. Although I wouldn't use the word "thin", I understand what you're saying. As many other commenters have pointed out, that was a sixteen year old Su. Su performed three solos that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow' just before this song, and 'Rondo of Nightmare' later in the set. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su that night ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen').

I think I get what you men about her voice. But I think It's also a positive thing, like a needle punching through the background music. I think that just like a needle, being thin (can't think of a better word here either) is part of what enables it to get through so easily. If it were less compressed, it would probably clash more with the frequencies of the other instruments. But I think she went a bit into the direction you mentioned when her voice matured (this performence was in 2014, so she was 16 at the time). To me this is almost a perfect song, it has everything one could ask for. Every single instrument is awesome (the guitar solo is particularly great), the vocals are great, the melodies are beautiful, the speed is energizing... And the video has great shots, too. I particularly love the part when they get back to the calmer intro part where the bass is doing this little run and BOH (the bass player) is visible in the background, slightly out of focus (and of course Su's stare right after her last note). I'm sure you'll love BOH when you see more of him. The girls are smiling pretty much throughout the shows, but sometimes I think he is having more fun than anyone else. You'll often see him get into crab stance and banging his head, it's awesome to watch (e.g. during "Gimme Chocolate" at the Stephen Colbert show, IIRC). Please check out "Rondo of Nightmare" for more of him... I think for people starting their journey with "Gimme Chocolate", it's not a bad idea to revisit it later. It often makes a better impression once one has gotten used to the initial BABYMETAL weirdness.

Thanks for taking a look at this. It's shows another dimension of the band. As you noted, stage production, lighting, movements hand gestures, everything is part of the show, it has all been planned. Even the facial expressions for Sumetal have been thought out, like she is playing a part in a play. I'm sure you'll enjoy this aspect as it seems to resonates with your comments on many bands that should consider not just the music but production too.

Partially cause they were (no joke) doing homework (Su was either nearly 16 or just turned 16 while yui and Moa where 14 at this show) If you want to hear a song focusing on yui and Moa then I would recommend “onidari daisekusen” “GJ” or “Sis anger”

Great! & thanks again from Japan 有り難う💛。 No wonder about your comment on Su-Metal's immature voice. This was filmed in 2014 when she was only 16-year old. Now in 2021, on Feb.19, Akatsuki became a very special song for BABYMETAL fans in a different way. This song had not been performed for 2 years and 4 months, but they revived it that day on a similar center stage (not rotating but telescopic octagonal). I witnessed it at Budokan, the same legendary arena in this video. Honestly I could not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. There is one certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss there, especially with Su's matured profound voice. ps. A recently released Blu-ray video showed me what happened there ヽ(^o^)丿

Basically everything that has already been commented. The blue and red lights tie in with the lyrics from memory. The one thing that has struck about BabyMetal and still does to this day, is how old they were when they were selling out concerts around the world. I have not seen them live much to my disappointment but I own several of the live DVd's and watched a few shows online and even allowing for post production, the confidence and mastery of putting on a live show is unsurpassed by any of the headline rock/metal bands when you consider the ages of the front three girls.

No matter what I will always be thankful to Babymetal for introducing me to BOH (the bass player) - bass has such an underrated role in a lot of rock/ metal compositions but here he’s given chances to shine on a regular basis, and he knows exactly how to make the best of those without overdoing it, as you said With regard to her voice I think it sounds thin on the lower notes for two reasons: she’s still a teenager so her voice has yet to mature here (if you listen to this year’s concerts for instance you’ll hear the difference in terms of volume and depth to her voice), the second is that she keeps her voice placed the same way throughout even when she sings lower notes, which means those lower notes will sound thinner as a result - my impression is that it’s deliberate on her part, although I could be wrong (we’d need to ask her really to be certain….)

Back in their earlier years, they would do Su solo songs and Yui+Moa (black babymetal) songs. Not sure if you want spoilers, but certain things happened, and they don’t do it so much anymore. Su’s voice has matured over the years, and she has a little more range and technique, but still an elite performer. If you want to see more of the band and another su metal solo, Rondo of Nightmare + Mischief of god intro is the way to go (Kami band front and center). You can also see what they do with the center of the circle (from the same show) If you want to see Yui and Moa do their thing, their songs are : Onedari Daisakusen, 4 no Uta (only writing credits the girls have), GJ,(my favorite) and sis anger

They performed "Akatsuki" on both nights at Budokan in 2014, but this performance from the second night (Black Night) may be the best pro-shot I've seen of it. They made a lot of little improvements with the camera work from the first night to the second, like the way it picks up BOH in the background where he has his bass line in a quiet moment, and the way they made that one shaky camera work for them by mostly using it when the fire pots were blowing up. One of the best pro-shots they've ever released. I never get tired this video, or of seeing people react to it. It always gets my heart pumping.

Another great reaction! I love the way you break things down, always giving me new insight into things I already love. Performances from this show are among my favourites. This was the first arena concert where the Kamiband performed every song. They got a huge amount of spotlight time because it was like, "look, we have an awesome live band for the whole show now instead of just encores". Su-metal at that age definitely had thinner vocals, which is not really surprising. I don't know much about singing, but I don't think many people of any gender at 16 years old can belt without sounding thin. They sometimes had her harmonize with herself on a back track to help her out with that. I think some early songs like this one were intentionally pushing at the edges of her capabilities as a vocalist. She seems to like to challenge herself and Koba has definitely said that he likes to challenge her as much as he can. In recent years she's developed more in the low end of her range and doesn't sound anywhere near as thin. It did in fact take her many years, but she's definitely putting in the work. It might be time to check out a newer song so you can see how they've developed. I'd recommend "Starlight", which is the first of a trilogy of songs that are meant to cover the emotional arc of the very difficult period Babymetal went through in 2018 (when Yuimetal left, and one of the guitarists died). The other two songs are "Shine" and "Arkadia". It's a bit harder to find actual live performances of the new stuff (lots of official videos that set studio audio over live performance video these days), but the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel links out to many. Check the "Future Plans" video there for links to off-KZbin sources. These videos seem to have worked pretty well for other reaction channels. The Kamis are all excellent performers, but BOH, the bass player, is probably my favourite as well. When he gets the spotlight his stage presence is always great, and he's always rocking the hell out even when he doesn't have it. He's so much fun to watch. You might be interested in checking out his jazz work with "Kariband". They have a KZbin channel. I'm pretty sure he's played the same instrument at every Babymetal show, and every Kariband show. It's his own signature Atelier Z.

I recommend Headbanger fromt the Legend 1997 show, or from this same Budokan show. And Ijime Dame Zettai from Sonosphere 2014. Also "Catch Me If You Can," with the Kami Band intro. I also recommend "Black Babymetal," which are the two younger girls without SU-Metal. They have 4 songs. "Song 4" is one that the girls wrote themselves.

About Su vocal, I think the most apparent from her sound its "twang" in her voice, let her go for higher note with less effort, make its loud, powerfull yet clear and crisp contrast with guitar tone. Furthermore high pitched and "squeky" vocal its make them sound "very japanese". Afaik most kamis guitarist use esp , thats on sparkly pinky guitar is takayoshi ohmura, while on the black arrow one is leda cygnus, and mikio fujioka (not in this video), the latest one famous for his pinch harmonic style. And the monster bassist is BOH, I think he use 6 string atelierz. Go for Rondo of nightmare (akumu no rondo) live at budokan with kamis intro for perfect display of Kami, unconventional tempo on waltz metaI song, I dont want to spoil further, but if you play bass, its worth checking, its use the same stage btw Or if you want more crazier song structure go for tales of the destinies.

You already mentioned many great things at the start. The Budokan venue is the "Madison Square Garden of Japan". An internationally known venue. It's a venue build for martial arts (Judo) in the Olympics of 1964. The Beatles were the first to perform there as a band. Babymetal set their own record in 2014, they were the youngest average age female act to perform there. The youngest person to perform there was actually Micheal Jackson when he performed as part of the Jackson 5 (yes, a while back, this venue has lots of history LOL). This explains why it's a round venue, 360 degrees of audience, a large part looking down on the stage. Which, as I understand it, is great for a performer if you can make it work because the roar of the audience really comes from all possible sides. Left, right, back, front and the top. Which is why it was a dream of Suzuka as a little girl to sing at this venue. She, as Su-metal, was able to achieve her childhood dreams at the age of 16 (she is the oldest of the 3 in Babymetal). So what do you do when you've already achieved that ? You announce a world tour at the end of the 2 sold out shows at the Budokan (the Budokan show is when they also released the first album). The Blu-ray even got to #1 of the the Blu-ray charts in Japan, youngest artists to have done so. Just one of many records. Ozzy Osbourne actually attended the Budokan show. At least his wife is a big fan. Babymetal got to perform at OzzFest 2015 in Japan as well. Budokan is kind of like Wembley Arena in the UK. An other Olympics sports venue (swimming). X-Japan is probably the best known, most respected rock/metal band in Japan, was going to be the first Japanese band to perform there. And Babymetal a week later. Babymetal has a lot of respect for X-Japan. Actually Akatsuki (Red Moon) is a song inspired by X-Japan's music. The song title is even a reference to X-Japan's Kurenai (Crimson Moon). Sadly because of health problems X-Japan wasn't able to perform at Wembley Arena (they postponed and performed a year later), so Babymetal became the first Japanese band to perform there. Still one of many PR items Babymetal can use to show off (ironically they are very humble). Babymetal lighting in the early days is a lot of red, white and blue. Big contrasts just like the Babymetal sound/music. When you've really made it in the UK you end up at the opposite side of the road which is the soccer stadium, Wembley Stadium (80 000 to 90 000 for concerts I believe). So when you are at Wembley Arena you really do think: probably never, but maybe, just maybe some day ? :-) I don't think it's possible, but Babymetal did do the equavalent in Japan: 2 sold out shows at Tokyo Dome, 2 setlists, no overlap of songs. Played literally all songs of their first 2 albums (performed almost all songs, but played all of them because they played over the PA system when the audience was leaving the first night the one song which was exclusively on the international release of the second album). Huge production, a tibute to their Budokan show. The Tokyo Dome is a round baseball stadium, so they had a huge round stage in the middle. You are spot on about her voice. But it's what makes it different/special in metal. A vocal coach reactor ones said: it's like a layer cake, the metal music with her voice on top (her voice is very clear and carries far which is a great part of why it works). And as mentioned in other comments her voice was still young. What you said about keeping the attention, the girls in Babymetal can do that very well. And the band still gets to rock out because of it. Just take away all the production and you'll see. Check out a festival reaction: Babymetal Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere, 2014, UK. Bassist BOH's first inspiration/bassist hero was Billy Sheehan. A few years ago they got to perform together playing for a Japanese artist at... Budokan. At Budokan I think they Babymetal some black bridges/tunnels they could walk under to leave. At Tokyo Dome they actually transported the girls in big rolling boxes after the show. As if the staff were just rolling equipment away from the stage. And 'Gimme Choco' is a great fit for Tiny Tina. I like how they also have the slow instrumetal version of Gimme Chocolate as well playing in between. Tiny Tina talks about guns in the trailer and some have a theory 'Gimme Choco' might also be a reference to World War II. It's never been proven or confirmed by Babymetal. Team Babymetal does like adding layers to everything they do, but I don't know if they want to be associated with it. The first indication is Yuimetal and Moametal's "Atatata taata taatatata zukkyun. Watatata taata taatatata dokkyun. Zukyun. Dokyun. Zukyun. Dokyun" are onomatopoeia for gun sounds. The choreography they do at that moment confirms this too. An other important reason is: 'Gimme Choco' is also what the starving orphan children would say to US soldiers when they invaded Japan who had "military chocolate" with them as a ration. My guess is they would be the specially produced by Hershey's the 'tropical bar' which could stand the heat for the Pacific Theater. OK, I'm probably way off-topic now... as mentioned: want to see a great performance of Babymetal without the production: Ijime,Dame,Zettai at Sonisphere.

Su's so young here. Her voice has really matured. I think at this stage they were aiming for a vocal quality that could cut through the heavy music in the background, and she tends to occupy a high enough space that her voice floats on top of the metal instead of being lost in it. Her lower register has really developed recently, tho. Thanks for the reaction.🤘🦊🤘 (react to Rondo of Nightmare or Catch Me If You Can if you want to see the stage move)

su metal is a soprano. her voice is high pitched especially when she was younger, she's only 23 and her voice won't fully mature until she's like 25. whenever she has to go "low" she uses a technique to where while going low she still has that unique high pitch voice of hers still there. im not comparing the two but amy lee has a powerful loud voice that PUNCHES through metal while su's high pitched voice cut through it like a hot knife in butter. she did perform this song again in this same arena earlier this year and it's crazy how good she has gotten. she's 23 now so there's still so much progression she's going to make. great reaction david-metal!

Since you love the bass player and you are wondering about the center of that stage, I suggest you to watch "Rondo of Nightmare" with mischief of the metal gods intro from that same show :) Regarding Su's vocals, you have to consider she was 16 at that time, she has matured a lot since :D About their production, they always did great in proportion with their budget: this was their second big show, was early in their career and it was at the same time as they released their first studio album :D

This is about the production. Koba and the lighting producers use only red, white, and blue for stage lighting and most effects. They do use different colors of lasers. Koba after watching various bands around the world settled on the three colors to represent the various aspects of a song. As you pointed out, they go from red to white, then blue, back to white, etc. depending on the lyrical content. I'm sure others have pointed out that Su was only 16 during this performance. Obviously her voice has matured significantly since then. It would be interesting to contrast three performances of Akatsuki to see how her voice matured and her stage performance; 1) Legend 1997 (unfinished - Kami band silent) 2) Black Night Carnival, and 3) Legend - Baptism - S - XX.

My favorite part about the switch up at 4:50~ which I never noticed until you paused it right there, her swirling cape timed with the pyro-techs shift the song from being a ballad focused on her to her being lost in a sea of motion - like the entire stage is transitioning to a new place and time and then she re-emerges into a new environment, a new version of herself. In contrast of that, the next time the lighting subdues - when it comes back to the faster tempo/light pyrotechnics, the shift isn't nearly as jarring - she weathers it while staying the focus of attention; completely un-phased. The choreography always works So well with the stage production to convey a complete story arch, it blows me away. The crazy thing in this performance - at 16:34 (4:06 ish in official video), she drops from standing-straight to flat-on-her-knees, on to a hard floor, without missing a beat in her breath/pitch control. That's just impressive. The bottom register of her voice fills out a tiny bit as she ages, btw. This is a fairly old performance, she was still a teen. It always maintains that cutting quality, though.

Just in case you haven't heard, you should do Rondo of Nightmare next! 😁 You will not get jumped on by The One for criticism as long as it is constructive and you explain your reasoning. If you don't like something, you don't like something. No worries. Explain why and we will try to help find something more suited for you or even give you a different perspective on the song and see if that helps. Just like your comment on Queen Su's vocals here. Some folks do not realize that she is only 16 which gives some perspective. I think this show was in March which puts here 3 months after her 16th birthday. Also, you really need to watch the Legend 1997 performance of Akatsuki unfinished version. Exact same song but, different! Great reaction/review by the way. Even though this is my favorite song along side Shine (Legend M version) I have no issue with 8.8. It's all good. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

Glad the "Hammer" didn't come down on this video. I enjoy your take on BabyMetal. I really do think "Rondo of Nightmare" will be the song/video that will give you everything you want from this band and their live shows. That said it's another Su-metal Solo song, not saying that's a bad thing (Su is a Goddess) but sometimes it's good to go back and forth. So i would suggest maybe 'GJ' or 'Sis Anger' these are both Black BabyMetal song that allowed Yui and Moa to show their talents and give Su a chance to rest during shows

budokan was a very dangerous stage. the two girls yui and moa both hurt themselves. Yui fell off the stage during headbanger, moa hurt her knee while performing on the second night they played there. in the pro shot you can visibly see her trying hard not to cry while performing "ijime dame zettai" (another that you should react too at sonisphere or budokan) however, both girls pulled through and kept performing flawlessly. these girls are professionals.

I think this live performance (singing, playing, staging, etc.) is great, but for my taste, It is actually in the middle of the three levels of liking. I think Su-'s voice is a soprano, so I feel she suffers in the low notes in this song. She has also sung a cover song called "Soul's Refrain" at "The Legend 1997" live show, not long before this Budokan 2days live shows, and we can hear her struggling with the low notes on this one too. I have written it in the comments section of another reaction videos, and some hardcore fans got angry with me, lol. I am a big fan too, but! The name of the song, Akatsuki, when written in Kanji Chinese characters, "暁", it means dawn, daybreak as you say. But here they use "朱月". The second Kanji, "月" means "moon" and is read as "tsuki". And as for the first Kanji in the song title, The Japanese language for color "aka" is usually written as "赤", but here they use the Kanji for "朱". It can be read as "aka", but it is a special reading a little, I think. The meaning is "crimson, vermilion, scarlet, etc.", which is stronger than normal red. So this song title means "crimson moon", I think. The Nippon Budokan, originally is the Dojo for Japanese martial arts such as Judo and Kendo. And it has been a target venue for Japanese musicians since 1966, when The Beatles had performed here in Japan. It is circular in shape, as it is originally an indoor arena. As for Su-'s solo songs, I will recommend "Rondo of Nightmare". Her live performance in the same Budokan show, is too famous and great. Also "Doki doki morning" in it is good, too. Thank you from Japan.

I'm glad she sounds unique. When everyone uses the american style of singing, that's all power and vibrato it just sounds like vocal masturbation, they all sound interchangeable. You can't mistake Su-Metal for someone else.

You are correct. Yui and Moa were just resting. There are a few songs where this happens. There are also a few songs where Su takes a rest and Yui and Moa take the lead. That is known as Black Babymetal. You'll get there. The Kami Band. What can be said about these guys? Leda Cygnus with the Flying V. Technically perfect at all times. Takayoshi Ohmura on the glittery pink guitar. He's the biggest showman of the band. Although Boh, (Bohte Daisuke) the bassist rivals him at many times. Yes, Boh is a beast! And the drummer, Hideki Aoyama, is beyond excellent. The whole band is top notch. The other guitarist, who sadly passed away in 2018, Mikio Fujioka was sonically unmatched is his style. He wasn't here for this one but when you see a man playing guitar and smiling from ear to ear constantly, that's him. Many comments have steered you towards "Rondo of Nightmare" with intro. Listen to them. You'll dig it. Boh WANTS you to see it. "Road of Resistance" is hard to beat, but this performance by Su is always in my top three. She's special and VERY young here. You might want to listen to some of her more recent performances. She's growing and so is her voice. As for criticism, we of The One will never berate you for honest and thoughtful criticism. (Yes, there are some who will be offended but there are bad apples on every tree.) We understand that Babymetal is not for everyone and some aspects of their performances may never touch you the way is does us. That's cool. We just get irate when people dismiss them as a gimmick and say they suck. It's NOT and gimmick and they don't suck. You don't like them? Fine. There are many bands I could name that I dislike. I won't but you'd probably be surprised at some of them. I would NEVER say that they suck. Just that I don't like them. It's personal and we're all different. Criticize away, my friend. You are still One of us. I can tell. Let me add that I enjoy your in depth observations. Don't feel the need to limit yourself to five minutes. Go longer or shorter as your whim necessitates. It makes for great rewatchability. I've watched your "Road of Resistance" reaction at least a half dozen times already and will watch it more. And you MUST know what a Kitsune is by now. It's a shadow puppet Fox Head. It represents the Fox God who leads Su and the One. Throw it up whenever the mood strikes you. Or when Su commands you to do so. Put your Kitsune up! (That's what she yells at the end of "Road of Resistance") Fun reaction as usual. Thanks. Peace
