The man's voice is like butter. About the only voice that can carry such a simple tune and make it sound big. Another great one taken too early from this world, I'm sad thinking about all we lost. But at least they left a little piece of themselves behind for the world to enjoy.

I was on the fence with this version until my daughter started jamming to it! Now it's my favorite version! She and I sing this obnoxiously loud and off key!😃

Chris recorded this in his home studio in 2016. His widow and children released it and the video on his birthday in 2020. To me that’s what makes it special. It was a tribute from his family. Miss him❤️

My first day of the new year could literally not have ended better, watching you David react to this song is just terrific. My first thought when you scored was that it was to low, and a agree the need for an 8.0. His version of the song is just amazing. I had the pleasure of hearing this version first, then listening to the original really disappointed me profusely.. Axl Rose has never been a vocalist I enjoy much, but enjoy some GNR songs - what Chris did to this song is lift it miles above the original in my opinion. I cry whenever watching the music video cus the songs message, combined with the pictures, moment and memories captured and knowing no more photos will be taken, no songs will be written by this outstanding individual is nothing short but heartbreaking. The sound and vibe made with the thinned out sound of what Chris bring with just himself and a guitar creates the perfect somber feel that pares so great with the song itself. Thank you for the reaction David, keep it up! ❤

Loved the reaction. My bad. When I requested it I should have said upfront it was a cover. It's too bad if was released after he died. Would love to have heard a live version like One and Billie Jean but I'm still happy I requested it and as always thoroughly enjoyed your review. Btw starting off 2022 with 22k in the fan base has to be a good omen thst this will be a much better year for everyone! Happy New Year to you, Mrs. Heretic and the whole fanbase on the channel!

Btw that metallica's one lyrics over u2's one cover he did was brilliant. It's like a cover and mash up combined. And let's no forget billy jean. That was a good cover too!

Always great to be able to listen to Chris Cornell covering awesome songs. That being said, not my favorite cover, though I immensely enjoyed the vocals and the heartfelt emotion, as always. Great review!

To me, Chris gave this rendition such an incredible feel. I hope that Axl and rest of the guys in GN’R can really appreciate it, too.

I've been a fan of Chris/Soundgarden since I saw loud love on Rage 1990(ish) and NO one touches him in the vocal department, but gunners version is much better

I hate it. It definitely sounds different as you've said. And that's the point of doing a cover. If nothing is changed you'd be doing karaoke and not a cover. The generic electronic hazy beat in the background just does not fit this song at all. It's like mixing water and oil. The production is just weird and lazy. I made some electronica here and there. And I just know when someone is just using templates, presets and samples libraries. Wa-haaaay too much reverb on his vocal too. It's a forgettable cover that feels over-produced and tailored for pop friendly radio stations. If you had taylor swift or adele singing on it, it would be on brand for what they do. But it's weird hearing Cornell sing over this type of production. It does sound more melodramatic in an adele sort of way. I give you that. But boy, I hate it. Happy new year!
